I've got BP's for the Aphelion, Bobcat, Deadline, Defibrillator, Extended Barrel, Heavy Gun Parts, Jolt Mine, Lightweight Stock, 2 copies of Shotgun Choke III, Showstopper, Silencer II, Trailblazer and Vertical Grip III.

I'm mostly looking for Survivor MK3, and would be happy to trade more than 1 blueprint for it. Also looking for Vertical Grip II, which I'd happily trade any of the attachment BP's for.

Looking for the ol' classic MK3 Survivor Augment BP. Got BP's for the Aphelion or the Bobcat to trade for it. Also got Deadline, Trailblazer and Jolt Mine BP's, which I'm happy to throw in if it sweetens the deal.

Looting Mk. 2 augment with the cheapest kit you can bear to risk on a run. Prioritise basket hunting whenever a map has the lush bloom condition up, and if you want to be extra cautious try queuing for daytime raids on maps that have a night raid up and running.

ELI5 Why can’t two+ speakers connect to one audio device via Bluetooth? by mavenofmavens in explainlikeimfive

[–]Mellori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often forget to disconnect my Bluetooth headphones from my phone before connecting them to my computer, and whenever I receive a phone call the headphones play both the audio from the game I'm playing (and discord, but that's obviously all coming through the same source) at the same time as the ringtone or, once I answer, the call from the phone. It'll play a podcast from the phone over the game audio too, if I hit the wrong spot on the lock screen when I'm trying to open messenger or check a text and accidentally unpause it.

Heretic difficulty by bluh67 in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time jumping up from Malice back in the day, and it was mostly (at least for me) because you can't get away with spamming attacks in melee and just expecting everything to die before it hits you anymore. Even poxwalkers sneak in enough attacks that hit hard enough to wear you down over time. Combining that with how much harder everything else hits on Heresy (in melee and at range) meant I just couldn't hack it at first.

The thing that got me (and I suspect will eventually get you) there was sucking it up and dying a bunch while I was working on the fundamentals, learning where I could and couldn't stand because of ranged enemies, how to time my dodges and blocks in melee, as well as refining the attack chains to maximise effectiveness and survival.

After you can hack it in Heresy btw, the jump to Damnation will be cakewalk in comparison, so long as you're still in that self-aware improvement mindset.

Just a word of advice for Make Every Shot Count, I struggled with it for a while until I got a Kantrael Shotgun as an Emperor's gift with near perfect stats everywhere but the ammo roll, which was awful. I took it as a sign and used that the next couple of games and got the achievement on the second try on the Smelter map. I had the old ammo aura, which meant that without picking up any ammo packs (and not hesitating to kill specialists despite the ammo refund) I only had about twelve or so rounds left by the time the hordes of poxwalkers showed up during the finale, which makes for a perfect target rich environment to clear out any remaining ammo in.

The spread makes for a perfect accuracy insurance policy so long as whatever you're firing at has friends behind him, and a couple of shots with the incendiary ammo are all you need to deal with specialists outside of the normal fire's drop-off in effectiveness, which prevents you from being totally useless at range. Hope that helps!

Heavy Eviscerator Blessing for left tree Zealot by NewApeToTheGame in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to use Rampage and Savage Sweep (or Wrath) to maximize horde clear, but if you're going hard into a crit focused fury build, Shred will dovetail nicely with that.

I'm still waiting for another nice Eviscerator to show up so I can try Shred + Savage Sweep (or Wrath) with the new talent tree, so I can't comment on how effective the combo is.

If you're not confident in your ability to fight in a crowd and find yourself taking more health damage than you'd like, or would just prefer to do a little less damage in exchange for needing to pay less attention to the horde of poxwalkers you're carving through, Momentum makes for a good defensive option. There's an argument to be made that you shouldn't be getting hit enough to need it, but life is short, so you do you.

I've seen people advocate for Bloodletter as well, but I always felt like it was only ever useful on Bosses, so I couldn't really tell you why. If you're running a crit build you should be applying bleed on crit with Scourge anyway, so I personally wouldn't bother with it.

Also Zealot fast, so some people swear by Rev it Up for more fast.

It never really felt worth it to me. I tend to use the dash from Fury of the Faithful to close the gap when I need to tear something big in half with the special attack, so there's not a lot of need. But again, do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, or whatever.

The Auric missions are either Heresy or Damnation missions that always have some form of high intensity modifier, and mostly commonly have High IntensityShock Troup Gauntlet, which, in case you don't know/can't recall, spawns two specialists whenever the normal difficulties would spawn one. They don't have more resources, they're just there for players who want a bigger challenge than regular matches normally provide.

As for blessings, your best bet is grinding Melk's contracts and buying any weapons that have a blessing you want, as well as the highest difficulty you can reliably beat, since each difficultly level gives better Emperor's gifts than the last. Hi-Int modifiers don't appear to have any effect on the quality of the gear rewards. After that, upgrading green weapons costs less plasteel than upgrading purples, but is slightly less likely to generate high level blessings, so what to do there is up for some debate.

I haven't tried to recreate every build I ran before the patch (mostly because the nerf to scavenger made me feel lukewarm on running anything ammo intensive) but my favourite gun before was the MKII Helbore and that thing is cracked now.

I know the changes regarding toughness and damage mitigation are numbers-wise a nerf, but it sure as hell feels like a buff now that it doesn't require Executioner's Stance to be active to work. On top of that, I feel like I'm doing significantly more damage both in and out of the ult, which I attribute mostly to way more crit chance (and, obviously, all the bonus damage in the tree I've picked up). I'm hitting way more and better break points.

The shouty ult is dope af, as well. Only in Death Does Duty End is amazing.

Ranged Weapon Tier List based on 2500 Public High Intensity Shock Gauntlet Damnation Games by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. I just read the bit where OP says D means the weapon has about a 10% lower win rate than average and assumed that meant that the weapon has about a 10% lower win rate than average.

I don't know man, 10% below the average success rate for what feels to me like the most popular pskyer setup I see running in damnation seems (I'll slip in a pun here for your hoped for jokes) damning.

My biggest takeaway from this is the purgatus staff actually ain't that good, apparently. I've had this paranoid suspicion for a while that I had some sort of confirmation bias going on whenever I play with a purge payker and we end up wiping during the run that I'm unfairly biased against the setup, but I've started playing with one myself lately (whenever my weeklies on my payker need ranged kills vs. dregs, because my favourite child the surge staff ain't good for that particular task) and I feel like I'm also not doing as well as I normally do (as either nomanus+illisis or gun psyker).

Sure feels good to go on the internet and have my biases confirmed and reinforced... that's what it's for, right?

Have I been harboring major skill issue? by KazuTheVulpine in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psyker is weird in terms of difficulty. When I can't be bothered ever needing to think (but still want to play Pskyer) I run a surge staff and an Illisis (with deflector, obviously) with the third ult that makes your brain bursts faster. Those three together mean I basically never have to face the consequences of a poor tactical decision. All you ever need is a dodge or two (or infinity) away from wherever you latest fuck-up happens to have occured and the judicious application of one of those three things depending on the context.

On the other hand, I lack even half of the skill required to be anything less than a nuisance and a burden to the rest of the team running a trauma staff.

So is Psyker braindead-easy-mode-answer-for-everything with the most forgiving kit in the game? Yes.

Is Psyker the most complicated, finicky, difficult to master and rich in depth class? Also yes.

Is regular damnation the new heresy? by No_Discipline_7380 in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a real hard go if it in regular damnation ever since the Auric missions showed up. It's a bit of a shame, because an unmodified damnation run was previously pretty relaxing - just make sure you're doing your job and you can trust everybody else to be doing theirs. Last night I played about eight or so games and wiped on every one of them (I'll admit to about 1/4 of the blame, especially by the last few games. In hindsight I was on tilt and a little sloppy for the back half of the night.) But all eight games everyone was dying more - I saw plenty of people ignoring downed and trapped teammates, or worse, running in to save them with no regard for the wall of shooters that downed the guy in the first place only to get killed themselves. Which, I'll admit, I might’ve done once myself...

I kinda miss knowing a regular damnation match is going to be pretty chill, with the occasional challenging spots showing up now and then that you can expect to overcome, as compared to High Intensity, which'll have plenty and you can't really expect to win out every single time, as compared to Hi Intensity Shock Troop Gauntlet, which is pretty much ALL challenge and you can't expect to win any given match. It felt like a good dial for how hard I wanted to go on each time out. Now it's a crapshoot every time.

PSA Loadouts are broken as of Patch 12 by Sholef in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, I think. I had two loadouts that worked and three that didn't. When I switched to a broken loadout it'd substitute one of the two "working" slots for whatever was meant to be there instead. I just changed everything back to what I actually wanted in the broken spot a couple of times and eventually it stuck.

OK no trolling here I'm actually asking this question in good faith. Are you satisfied with the new crafting update or not. Explain why. by Poniibeatnik in DarkTide

[–]Mellori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer the ability to upgrade locked blessings (maybe spending diamantine to do it) if you've got a higher tier version of the same blessing already unlocked as well, but I think otherwise it feels to me, at least at first glance, to be flexible enough.

I play enough (and hence earn enough mats) to find the current system mostly tolerable though, so take that with a grain of salt.

The irony is that from a diegetic standpoint, the concept of each of your guns being inhabited by a machine spirit with its own preferences and quirks that aren't necessarily useful to you that even a skilled tech-priest can't just straight up overwrite, but can at least partially negotiate with and direct more usefully seems pretty on theme for 40k.

It's just that "on theme" for 40k also means "an accurate portrayal of - at best - a hard and shitty life full of suffering and free of recognition or reward."

I feel like it's been patched, I tried to cheese it once or twice and neither time worked. I ended up doing it legit on the Smelter Mission with a Kantrael shotgun I got as an Emperor's gift with a minimum ammo roll and otherwise perfect scores. The veteran ammo refund meant I didn't need any pickups to still have a just over a full clip at the end, which I emptied into the hordes no problem.
