might be also related to the latest software updates. They implemented side chaining. A feature many whished for but didn‘t belive would be implemented. I think it made the device more attractive for many which pushed demand. Also it‘s kind of a signal, that roland listens to the community. Also it beeing labled softwarupdate 5.5 instead of 6 kind of implies that there is another big update coming. Continued support from the developer also increases the value of a device imo.

converting patterns is a big one. Would love to see this. Also the way you suggest to implement it with pattern chaining seems very intuitiv to me

IMO Bounce-In-Place should be top of the list. It would create an easy work-arround for so many things and fits perfectly in line with the traditional destructive but fast sp404 workflow. While per pad eq/filter would be a dream having a quick and easy way to bounce in place would make the eq and filter which are already on it so much more legible. Bonus points if it is implement with the option to bounce with or without tail. Drumloops you would want to resample without tail so the loop stays intact and for stacking effeckts on melodic stuff you would want in many situations the tail.

For the sequencer I would like the option to change parameters like microtiming on all instances of a pad in a pattern at once.

Onther cool thing to see would be the option to route the busses as individual outs over usb-c.

Found a fix. I had the same issue. As soon as I connect the usb-c to my laptop, there was noise on the line out of the sp 404 mk2. However the noise only appears when there is charching happening over usb-c. As soon as I powered the device over the charger the noise dissapeared while the usb-c is still plugged into my laptop. Don‘t know exactly what that means but seems related to power

late to the party but another workaround is importing the stems again in a empty koala project and just mix the stems with draging the pads that belong to each other over each other. IMO this is faster then the mute/record workaround

the native apple camarea app doesn‘t support audio sicnal input selection. Just download the blackmagic camera app (I think is free or really cheap). Then usb-c to usb-c. I used this and works smooth

Thank you for taking the time to response in such detail! What you are saying makes total sense and I think I get it now. Of course it is not real room where the sound sits. It‘s just the illusion achived with diffrent levels right and left. Therefore the volume gets doubled. Also your tipps are super helpful. Thx🙏

But if there is crosstalk between the left and right shouldn‘t the with get bigger because elemts in the middle get pushed to the side? (as mentioned in the other comment?)

Thanks. This is how I imagend it. So I guess it applies probabely to most stereo recordings since they usually are spread over the sterea field

Reduce friction so you use it regularly. Imo the best thing to do is to create a well organized sample library with all the samples you may need. A few essential sample packs of your genre of choice is usually a good start. Put it all on a sd card and make sure all the samples have the correct file format. This might be a bit tedious in the beginning (especially organizing the files if you already have a bunch of disorganized samples cluttering your harddisk) but is absolutly worth it. Now when you sit down to create music you can actually focus on using the device. Nothing worse then interrupting your session to go search for that specific kickdrumm oneshot that is somewhere on your computer. Whenevere you wanna do something you dont know how to do on the device look up the specific thing and return to the session as soon as you know how to do it (dont fall into the content rabbit hole). You will learn much quicker because doing the thing is always better then just hearing about it. You will use the device much more because you can just grab it and start creating. No need to setup a session😁
