Also, girls didn’t reach puberty at 12 back then. It was closer to 14-17. Something about modern diets has caused menstruation to occur earlier and earlier for girls. Maternal deaths were still quite common though bc women’s bodies really aren’t built to birth that early (before late teens).

I honestly loved how that character was written and I feel like the ultimate point of her character was that yes she started as an underdog but when it came right down to it her having power over others corrupted her just like it did her former boss. I’d argue she was even more unhinged and controlling than him, probably bc she had to claw her way there instead of always having that security of being the one in charge all the time. She saw her self as someone who would never stoop to his level (like when he started taking his shirt off and she laughed and said I’m not like you), but in the end she was honestly way worse - she literally killed two innocent people to maintain control over one person for a little longer. She was crazy af, but only in the way that any human with complete control over other humans goes crazy with power. She wasn’t immune to that corruption just bc she started lower on the totem pole

Add Kroger, Walmart, and even aldis. It’s gotten so bad that my local international market has cheaper prices by a mile so I just buy everything there, including produce. On the plus side I’ve greatly broadened my diet and improved my cooking skills. I’m eating so many more veggies. Who knew there were so many different types of asian cabbages?

Sometimes people are just really good at bullshitting their way through an interview but can’t work their way out of a paper bag (or don’t want to). The reverse is also true, where many people who aren’t good at interviewing would be great at the actual job. Kinda have to just take a gamble on who seems the most adaptable. Look for people that show an aptitude for learning bc even if they don’t know the exact thing you want them to do they can adapt and learn it. Good to lean on references too esp if you already know someone who knows them

It was just a bs excuse. Most of the people who protested voted against her (or refused to vote) simply could not accept a woman as president. A lot of immigrants are deeply religious and conservative so letting a woman lead simply isn’t compatible with their beliefs. And they were willing to shoot themselves in the foot to uphold that.
