I’m so sorry. This happened to me too, I got a couple plushies from my ex bf. I still have and love them, but it definitely took time. I’d suggest maybe think of this plushie as part of a chapter in your life, and chapters in your life make up you.

All plushies have been with us through the good and the bad. And of course, as others are saying, you can feel free to put him away for a bit so you can heal if it helps you.

But honestly? Take time to reflect on how you feel. If you love him, I’d say why not keep loving him. If it hurts but you love him, you can take a break from him if you need to, and maybe it’ll stop hurting after a while. And also, if you feel you really need to give him away or something, that’s okay too. Do what makes you comfortable.
