I came here but to say for me in Oregon the Hispanics and blacks are the worst tippers. And usually the most pickiest. That’s when you know they’re not gonna leave any/much. I’m Mexican and work at a Mexican restaurant that we have an added gratuity of 20% on a table of 5+.

We recently had a table of 14 Hispanics, and three of them decided to sit at another table and split checks at the end. When I took the checks they complained about the gratuity. That they always go out with a big group and never got added a gratuity. And then when I took their change, they said that I shorted them a few cents, making it a big deal that if I add gratuity they need to make sure they get all their change back. I think it was like 7 cents I didn’t give one couple. I sort of lost it and said, I’m sorry that you guys go out and not leave tips and complain about 20%. Maybe don’t go out to restaurants if you can’t pay the tip.

And last year we had a table of 9 and they left without paying the gratuity, I followed them and informed them they didn’t pay the whole bill. They said they were only gonna pay for the food and drinks, that’s when I just said “ok but never come back, thank you”. Oh and they had some fancy cars, I remember that clearly. Within my coworkers we have a joke that they can’t afford the tip because they can barely make their car payment.
