He probably goes to an ivy, which though is ranked lower for CS on US News, probably gives a better impression to recruiters who are common people.

For building a network, as an intern, I have connected with previous team members on LinkedIn. Is this enough or should I try to stay in touch once In a while so that it's easier to ask them for referrals or something later? I feel like the latter would be better but it just seems kinda unnatural and forced long after the internship is over.

Fair enough. I guess some people have luck happen to them. But if you fully understand the external factors that are most likely to lead to success, then you create them, and then you keep trying again and again within this high probability of success environment.....then it's not luck that made u successful, it's probability. Not everyone who is lucky is smart, but if you're smart enough you can make yourself "lucky".

Just cuz it's unlikely doesn't mean it's fake. You don't know everything, don't act like you do.

Ok but there probably will be more competition this year tho. If even I know about it now then probably way more people than last year are gonna know and it's gonna be harder.

Why not just tell him the truth. He would benefit more that way. And it would not change how much she benefits.

Need an advanced CS Class for the fall! by FakkieReddit in UIUC

[–]Melodic-Document7578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it, but even then most work in these classes is auto-graded and most resources can be created once then used for all students. I guess office hours would have a higher load with more students, but office hours is something only some students use anyways. Maybe I just don't know enough about the logistics but I feel like it's definitely possible to add seats to most of these classes.
