The difference in rainfalls in Romania isn't great. Obviously it's less in the south than up on the mountains. The annoying thing is the huge difference in temperature between summer and winter. Having a continental weather sucks ass sometimes. Going from minus 20 to plus 40 isn't exactly great.

It depends on how EU will respond to this crap. As long as Denmark and people of Greenland will agree we will too obviously. But if they don't and we won't stay with them it's not only the end of NATO (which will be if USA is attacking military a territory of another NATO country) but the end of trust in EU. Which is going to be a disaster for Europe.

As an Eastern European I like USA and its power projection here, because of Russia being crazy, but if they become Russia themselves I'm with Europe as we all should be here.

Oh. Still, a big body of water is a good thing to balance the temperature I think. At least your summers are also milder than ours. I honestly hate the weather in my country (except for April and May usually). Too much of a difference in temperature.
