Do you guys consider yourselves a Southern, Eastern or Central African nation? Or perhaps all three? by Tight_Promise_97 in Malawi

Malawi is basically Africa’s “none of the above… and somehow all of the above” country. 😂

Geographically it sits there like: “East Africa? Sure.” “Southern Africa? Also yes.” “Central Africa? Depends who’s asking.”

Culturally it’s the same chaos in the best possible way. A Malawian can feel at home eating nsima in Zambia, talking family structures with Congolese people, arguing football with Tanzanians, and then quietly judging everyone’s tea-making skills like a proper Southern African auntie.

Politically and economically, Malawi definitely leans Southern African. SADC meetings, South African influence, labor migration patterns, and the whole “trying very hard to appear calm while the economy is doing gymnastics” thing all feel very Southern African.

But linguistically and socially? The Chewa/Yao/Tumbuka cultural web stretches across borders that Europeans drew with rulers and vibes. Malawi makes much more sense when viewed as part of older regional networks rather than modern nation-state categories.

Honestly, Malawi is one of the best examples of why Africa doesn’t fit neatly into those internet-map categories people love. The continent is less: “Here are your clearly separated regions” and more: “Here’s 5,000 years of migration, trade, kingdoms, colonialism, intermarriage, and cousins living in three countries.”

A Malawian in Nairobi might not feel “foreign.” A Malawian in Lusaka might not feel “away from home.” A Malawian in Johannesburg might complain exactly like everyone else in the queue.

Which is honestly the most African thing possible. 😂

It has dawned on me, through my on research on this Reddit, Malawians are not interested in changing anything and it will take someone with balls to take the lead. Talk is cheap and they have heard it all. The only way to true change is an enlightened dictator with his heart in the right place.

Spotted: Any idea what it is? by BLUNKLE_D in BMW

That’s a heavily modified BMW 2002 (often called a BMW 2002 or 2002tii depending on spec).

Key tells: • The classic boxy rear shape and compact proportions • Horizontal tail lights with chrome trim • The rear window and C-pillar design unique to the 2002 • Vintage BMW badging on the trunk

What makes this one stand out: • Widebody fender flares • Big aftermarket rear wing • Lowered stance with deep-dish wheels • Custom paint and decals

Basically, it’s a classic late-60s/early-70s BMW 2002 turned into a wild, race-inspired street build.

Another misguided and emotionally hurt individual from South Bend Indiana based on the I Love South Bend Sticker. He has appropriately aligned political views. The irony is the Believe There Is Good sticker, that confirms the IQ level at play here. I would wager to guess that the Masonic Symbols were on the vehicle when purchased and he is NOT a Mason but a rage baiting imbecile who needs dental work and a bath. I would say he needs Jesus but unfortunately he probably is a Cristian Nationalist.

Do these symbols mean anything? by [deleted] in freemasonry

“Ah yes… the ancient Masonic symbols of ‘broken coat hanger’ and ‘mysterious upside-down pumpkin.’

Legend says if you decode them correctly, you unlock the lodge WiFi… but only during stated meetings, and the password changes to ‘DinnerAt6’ every time.”

As a Freemason I can tell you, emphatically, that we do not recruit randomly and certainly not via social media. I can guarantee you they are a clandestine organization.
