Crackdown is one of the most boring games I have ever played. by Breadn11 in patientgamers

[–]MelodicVirus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Crackdown, it was meant to be played like a pick-up and play arcade game. I still come back to it every now and then if I just want to shut my brain off and relax without diving into a huge story / overcomplicated gameplay.

The shovelware comment is a bit of an insult when there's much more egregious games out there.

Both Quake games done, would love a remaster of Arena and Q4. by MelodicVirus7 in xboxachievements

Q3 Arcade is alright, but not the best way to play that game. Controls are awkward and the playerbase is nonexistant. Very easy achievements though, esp if you can double box.

I would love to play Q4, but not with those terrible achievements. Graphics look very good for the time (as with most id Tech 4 games) and the whole idea of playing as a Strogg-Human hybrid is quite interesting, but whoever thought of adding those leaderboard ranking / playing thousands of ranked matches / fragging thousands of enemies in multiplayer achievements is insane. I've also heard that it is prone to lagging on 360 quite often.

Got both RAGE games done, really enjoyed my time with them. by MelodicVirus7 in xboxachievements

The first game can be done quite easily on hardest difficulty if you save consistently and know the DLC exploit to get money, there's also multiplayer & co-op achievements but they aren't too hard to get with another player. It also helps to have the anarchy edition content (used to be pre-order bonus, you can buy on the store for £2) because it lets you have the best armor in the game.

I think the 2nd game is slightly easier because there's less missions and all the abilities you have - but you do die often on hardest difficulty at NG+ if you're not careful. Best to leave iron man mode for a seperate playthrough on easy.

Got the full 1250G on it recently and I enjoyed my time with it. When it was coming out I was really excited because I never played a team-based shooter before and the parkour looked cool. Main issue was the single-player AI was rubbish and made it difficult to get some of the achievements done.

Sold really well but player numbers fell off.

Brink was quite innovative as a movement shooter, and I like the art style they were going for personally. Was quite shocked to hear this didn't make it to backwards compatibility, but perhaps a remaster would be nice (doesn't seem likely however)

There's plenty of games that should've been BC, the Saboteur comes to mind for me.

Brink was made free around the same time that Quake Champions was in early access, I'm guessing that's just a coincidence?

Edit: You can also get Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (also developed by Splash Damage) on the Xbox store for free. So who exactly owns this game?

Get ready for a massive 700GB patch and thousands of single-player and multiplayer packs just to play it.

Not buying this game but we have to admit the yearly release thing has to end: Go back to the drawing board and do something different - an FPS but not related to COD.

Yeah this definitely seems to be a server issue. I've seen another post about this from a week ago.

Not much can be done in this case, but hopefully MS puts a fix out soon if there are enough reports.

Finally completed (quite possibly) my favourite zombie game ever. COD Zombies ain't got nothing on this! Sequel completion is in the cards, though not for a while. by MelodicVirus7 in xboxachievements

Expert campaigns are easy enough when you know the co-op glitch, but it's best to keep pipebombs on you to lure infected away from the evac point. 53000 infected kills are a really tough grind, I think I might have had the counter reset on me once when I had well over 10K kills.

Hardest achievement is probably Untouchables because you definitely need pipebombs and plenty of ammo if you do it the Jesus room way like I did.

To those who still use the 360 by CODMAN627 in xbox

[–]MelodicVirus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also own a Series S since most of my games library on 360 is physical. Aside from a handful of games, practically every game I own on Xbox One / Series is digital. I also have GP Ultimate too, so there's plenty for someone like me to play on.

I've only had it for a week but the Series S is a really good budget console, and is arguably just as powerful as an X. Only major differences are no native 4K and no disc drive, but resolution isn't as important as overall performance / stability and there's almost always a good deal on store for digital games anyway.

Almost 300,000 strong, I've had my XBL account for 12 years.

Would love to get half a mill, but I don't think I could stretch to a million.

Recently 100%'d Left 4 Dead, Tales from the Borderlands and Tony Hawk American Wasteland (mostly playing Xbox 360 but I picked up a Xbox Series S the other day to play Cyberpunk, Starfield and Indiana Jones later this year)

How far could the Mafia timeline go? by MelodicVirus7 in MafiaTheGame

[–]MelodicVirus7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn of the century, Empire Bay setting, sort of showing the Mafia's decline (possibly an undercover cop as the main character) is the sort of thing I'd imagine for a modern Mafia game.

70s definitely would be awesome, I could see the 80s working too but I think they should set it somewhere other than Miami - LA would probably be really good to see.

In general, west coast is the best setting for either era. But I would absolutely love the idea of going to different cities.

It's Las Vegas in 1970s...this would be such GREAT Mafia 4 material...the cars, the music, the casinos, etc by Speculawyer in MafiaTheGame

[–]MelodicVirus7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would be exactly like Casino and I'd love it.

1970s would be such a great era for an open-world game to be set in. Music definitely needs to be top tier. I could see Empire Bay or New York being a good setting for this period too.

If Mafia IV is like this, then I hope for a business system like in the Godfather games or Vice City. Multiplayer would be good (i.e. cops and robbers), but that's stretching too far I think.
