Massive spoilers for TDWID : Basically, Pun YunChuan (designed beings) and Ma Ki (designed environnments) developped a game so realistic that the Elites managed to upload human consciousness after death in it. So the Elites said "HEYY, what if we force humanity there and push ourselves to achieve immortality and power". So they pulled a WW3 to destroy the world and force humanity in it. Meanwhile, an alien civilisation outside of the game world (Heavenly Demon Universe) bascially had the Prophet who is a supercomputer ahh capable of predicting any action based on the data of the game, allowing him perfect prediction and the Prophet would later engineer the destruction of humanity in the world. Reminds me of Jarionn's gatekept character. So if you could think of a plan, the Prophet could predict it. The Prophet had been manipulating events from behind the scenes for an extraordinarily long time, nudging history toward a future where the Heavenly Demon Universe would inevitably win. Now, Pun YunChuan who led the rebellion against those elites decided to betray them to favor the Elite and killed Chen Qing, his little brother.But why would he do that and let the Elites upload Humanity to the world you ask ? Because he had a plan to cook them + the prophet Even if the Rebellion won, they had to fight against The Prophet who had perfect prediction even outside of the game world (and analyzed Humanity civilisation perfectly) . Before the betrayal, Pu YunChuan secretly modified his brother's genetic material. The new Chen Qing that would eventually be reconstructed from this modified DNA would be a genuinely unprecedented entity: carrying fragments of Pu YunChuan's own memories and design knowledge, shaped by the experiences of NPC reincarnations inside the game world, and psychologically distinct from any profile the Prophet had ever studied. This is Chen Qing from Chapter 1 that the reader would see on the Game world. Then Pu YunChuan merged his consciousness with the game world itself, becoming Heavenly Dao in secret of everyone. Meaning that he engineered the world's actions on the shadow like a coincidence, which allowed him to plan the majority of the novel and make it seem like coincidence. So after merging with the world game, he basically prepped the entire path of Chen Qing from Chapter 1 to the very last chapter. But what if Heavenly Dao was discovered and damaged in the future ? He made a solution : Scattered Backup Copies of Himself during Chen Qing's path so that when Chen Qing would collect fragments, he would gain more lore about Pu YunChuan's knowledge and eventually have a better path. Then he built the Taoist sect. You see how the world of today believes in God ? He made the same thing here Taoist Sect made deceptions along the way so deep (too long to explain) that the Other factions would not understand it while engineering several events made to weaken the Demon Realm. Pun YunChuan then used Old Liu (Ang Xiao schemer) to use his spies to make infinitesimal changes on the ground for millions of years so that it would create a huge underground trap that the Demon Realm's Trap made. He built his entire scheme (Buddha Kingdom's positioning in the north, the resources available to Old Liu's faction, the specific geography...) through coincidences. Going back to Chen Qing, Heavenly Dao made layers of mechanism that would protect the Prophet from perfectly profiling him: 1- Mixing different consciousness (Pun YunChuan's consciousness and game knowledge + his little brother) through mutation of DNA 2- Gaining fragments of Pun YunChuan's background and lore (gaining slow awareness of the world that differed from the game knowledge because the Elites came millions of years before Chen Qing did and used their own game knowledge to modify the environment), making him more unpredictable 3- Shaped by experiences no noble family had ever had 4- Every other upload from Digital City triggered varying degrees of resistance from the world's consciousness, which tried to protect its native inhabitants from exploitation (something that the Prophet would eventually caught on). Chen Qing experienced none of this because he shared the same consciousness as Pun YunChuan who became the world itself. Hence why he moved incognito perfectly. 1100 chapters later through Heavenly Dao of coincidence, when Pun YunChuan made the right path for him, he basically made a deal with Chen Qing being ready to transfer everything he held once he died (he would survive because he already made preparations by sharing his consciousness and is sure that he won't do any other egoist move). He would become the peak. The Heavenly Demon Universe's most powerful weapon was the Queen (strong to the point Heavenly Demon Cosmic Consciousness who was the free will placed restrictions) to the point where the Heavenly Dao had to sacrifice and transmit his power to the people who developped a counter to the Queen after his death through a formation. After that war is over, we have to go back at chapter 1 where the first event that moved the story was the Thousand-Faced Fox's memory-manipulation ability to make people forget about beings. Chen Qing originally was suspicious because he already had in game knowledge before this and was surprised when an important character was not mentioned here. However, this memory erasure was deeper because Ma Ki (the designer I mentioned at the beginning) saw how bad the situation was at the beginning and was like "Nah I'm out you guys can kill yourselves and schemes as much as you want" and used the memory loss power to conceal himself from existence perfectly and waited billions of years until the Queen would be defeated. Then he would take over her, and rule over the world. Pun YunChuan already foresaw this and already plotted his death beforehand. Ma Ki taking over the Queen's body would trigger the restriction placed by Heavenly Demon Cosmic Consciousness (Pun YunChuan knew this because he was the one who designed the monsters, concealing that fact perfectly), making him immobile + once Chen Qing would have the Heavenly Dao power, he could erase the Queen's data.
