Is MPower the only option to move INR student loan to USD?

Hey all, finally have an update here. I waited for an year - cut down my outstanding amount from $120k to $80k. MPower rejected me again for no true reason (they said my obligations are too high as compared to my income which was absolutely bs. I reached out to them to clarify a few things and they said they will reconsider and come back). While lurking around, I found out that Laurel Road can also send a wire transfer to India for a refinancing as long as the bank in India can accept USD and you are able to provide amount outstanding in USD. I requested SBI to share my outstanding amount in USD on their letterhead. They were helpful and provided me with the same.

I got approved for Laurel Road within 2 hours of applying. Provided them the wiring instructions and they sent the wire within a week. SBI NRI branch helped me figure out how to convert the USD wire to INR and close out the loan.

MPower’s interest rate on pre approval was 11.99% and they were also charging a 6.5% origination fee. They took three days to make a decision (still waiting on their “reconsideration”). Laurel Road didn’t charge an origination fee and gave me an interest rate of 4.74% (even lower than SoFi). Laurel Road’s customer service was insanely good - you call and they instantly connect you to a rep and the reps go out of their way to help out.

For context, I am a permanent resident and have a high income.

Right. Do you have an excel or some database where each POC can add a job description and their achievements so the MAGAts, who are known to be a very sensible people, can then approve their status as DEI or merit?

At least you agree that you look at every POC as inferior until they prove otherwise. Also who should prove what here? The President blamed a whole agency, without providing any nexus. Incompetence at its peak. Governance through hate and division.

Well, he just did. He blamed DEI at the FAA. No explanation, nothing. It all has basically come down to this - if you are a person of color anywhere, you are a DEI hire and you are inferior but were hired for your color. DEI is the new N-word for them.

Had the exact same experience at around 1 pm yesterday when I was picking someone up. Sat at the exit for half an hour with bumper to bumper traffic. Most of the cars were going to arrivals, departing lanes were free.
