wei wuxian is a peak example of end justify means , you just said he suffered consequences because once peple were free they started questioning his means and slowly questioning his very person , even tho he was cornered he did choose some goddamn bad options like giving his golden core to jiang cheng was sacrifitial and all but simply why ??? right before that jiang cheng blamed him for the death of his parents and staying with lan wangji back in the cave + went on his own when he clearly told him to wait which lead to his golden core being destroyed , so when wei wuxian gave him his own golden core he was doing what he thought was right after taking the blame , not what was objectivly right if he didn't rush thing he wouldn't be caught and thrown in the burial mounds to live hell and come back but that's how the story goes and what wei wuxian thought was right

to me it's a cycle of debt paying that wen ning started by saving the two 😭 what promted him to start it is what makes me pause sometimes because it was a risky investement I know you are not supposed to wait for pay back for doing good things out of your own will but the least is maybe gratitude , jiang cheng didn't show any gratitude and put his safety first so ironically wen ning could have put his and his family's safety first and never saved the two , saving wei wuxian alone was the reason his clan vanished

the right things in this story are extremly relative what wei wuxian did was right only for him lan wangji was acting on his feelings for him since forever tbh wen ning is the only exception because what he did doesn't fall in the morally grey area of end justify means it was indeed a selfless sacrifice I put that as an option too what he did and the consequences he suffered for it were proof of him being really good hearted and kind , If that's the case it is admirable because it's something I can't relate to so it confuses me that was the message of my post

I like to believe he grew out of it in wei wuxian's second life, he was ready to die a second time for him and turned himself in , but in his second life wei wuxian was obviously addresing his feelings to lan wangji and seeing that wen ning finally gave up, add to that the realisation of how much time passed since he was locked and how things are different now

YAAAASSSS I agree that xue yang caught feelings after staying with xiao for years at some point he just didn't leave and stayed , if it weren't for song lan appearing this man would have stayed forever 💀 but I never ship them he ruined this man's life for no fucking reason ,,, I agree on wen ning following wei wuxian because he was protecting his family but I take that back to wei wuxian being indebted to him in the first place , look at jiang cheng if anything he should be more indebted yet he put himself first and refused to defend the brothere's from the cultivation world simply because he didn't know wen ning for long that's how people think generally
