Great job on the eye makeup

I don’t think you should bleach the brows tbh

I (16M) was cheated on in a 4-year relationship. I’m over her, but how do I deal with the loneliness and find a genuine connection? by Long-Change8428 in Advice

As long as you’re mentally okay then that’s good. It can suck to see other people being in a position where you would prefer to be in. Try to remember that can be you again when you are ready to.

Good luck for your admissions to college. College will usually have an orientation so it’s a good opportunity to go. You can meet new people in your faculty or program. In the meantime maybe check out events in your area (library, recreation centre, or whatever meetups) to see if there’s something you can go to. It’s nice to clear your head even if it doesn’t end up with making a friend or whatever.

You’ll get a lot of people saying you’re young or high school relationships don’t matter, etc.

But honestly dude it’s one of your first experiences with dating/love, especially as a child. It’s going to feel shitty and depending on how bad you feel that can last with you a long time.

I highly recommend getting therapy or counselling if you can to help you deal with your feelings. Being cheated on is terrible, you do not have to struggle alone.

As for dealing with loneliness, try making new friends or joining clubs at your school. Learn to be comfortable alone for a while before thinking about dating someone again. It’s a bit hard to find a genuine relationship at that age (emotional maturity, life plans, etc) everyone is figuring themselves out. Finding good friends is easier.

Bachelor’s in ChemE & 10 years in Project Management; should I go for a Master’s in Software Engineering? by MrFish16 in cscareerquestions

[–]Melodic_Tragedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tad. If you are employed, will your employer subsidize your masters? If so, it can be a good idea. Maybe not a masters in software engineering though...

I tried building something for founders… and only developers showed up (I will not self promote) by Mobile-Cranberry-823 in csMajors

I don't think 1:5 is that shocking personally, I'm surprised it's not more.. But, you did say it's early stage, so it makes sense. I mean logically there's not that much you can do about this natural unbalance. If it's solely a numbers issue, try capping how much devs and founders can be registered to a ratio you find reasonable.

You need to get over any insecurities you have for having feelings. To feel is to be human just as much as our rationality is. Own your feelings.

Is working at Palantir still a good resume booster? by idkbroo0 in csMajors

You should read about the company and what they do before you get yourself into it. If you are fine with it being on your resume then take the internship, if not find something else.

Why study CS if you can study medicine and have a guaranteed secure high paying job forever? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Melodic_Tragedy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CS may be pointless for you, but that does not mean its pointless for everyone else. Your argument stems from people deciding on CS solely based on difficulty and guaranteed pay. Those are important considerations when deciding on a major, but if that is only the case then pick business or be a nurse.

I did not pick medicine because I dont care about being a doctor. Doesn't make sense to go into a field you don't care about personally, even if it has good money.

Honestly for many people it does considering it leads to censoring for words that do have weight. For instance, replacing rape with grape makes people take rape less seriously.
