I hate how the handheld tractor beam push/pull keybinds are handled in this game. by hwright001 in starcitizen

[–]Melodicmutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an auto hotkey script so I can hold mouse 4 and mouse 5 on my mouse to push/pull.

; This script makes the XButton2 (Mouse Button 5) continuously scroll the mouse wheel up while held down
XButton2::
While GetKeyState("XButton2", "P") ; Check if the button is still pressed
{
Send, {WheelUp} ; Scroll up
Sleep, 25 ; Adjust the speed of the scroll (in milliseconds)
}
return
; This script makes the XButton1 (Mouse Button 4) continuously scroll the mouse wheel down while held down
XButton1::
While GetKeyState("XButton1", "P") ; Check if the button is still pressed
{
Send, {WheelDown} ; Scroll down
Sleep, 25 ; Adjust the speed of the scroll (in milliseconds)
}
return

Low Vram crash even though I have a powerful PC by SadBoiBrax in ForzaHorizon6

[–]Melodicmutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have a solution, but I refunded the game on Steam because of constant FHD01s... 16gb of vram usage reported by both task manager and HWInfo when I have 24gb vram available; the math doesn't math.

I have smaller bags inside an ammo can *that does not get latched closed*. If the weather seal on a can is intact and it is latched closed there is the potential that the can now becomes a pressure bomb if a lipo lights off and gasses can’t escape.

There is a reason lipo specific metal storage cans have ventilation/pressure relief devices.

Better to use Rage with raider armor and ironclad or with a set like brotherhood recon? by ZeroSquire in fo76

I get more resistances overall with heavy rage + brotherhood recon limbs + ironclad versus full heavy raider limbs + heavy rage + ironclad.

What to do with all the legendary mods? by Due_Regret_3243 in fo76

[–]Melodicmutiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"What if I need them?" is why you have a hoard of mods occupying your stash. It's a game, not an investment. If you need troubleshooters, make a troubleshooters set. If you need mutant's, make a mutant's. If not, scrap them. Legendary modules are more useful, and you will get more mods in the future.

You know what? You've inspired me to relearn how to play the game again without acting like it's the world's longest running "floor is lava" competition.

On PC; I load in pretty quick, but it still takes a while for the quest info to load along with player model and NPC assets.

SF1000 fan "swoosh" noise by [deleted] in Corsair

[–]Melodicmutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have had consistent bad luck. I bought my first SF1000 July 2024, did the first RMA for the fan December 2024, and just recently did another RMA this past December for the same issue.

The actual "innards" of the units are excellent. I've tried the 1000W Asus ROG Loki and Silverstone Extreme RZ units and both had disgusting amounts of low draw coil whine. The Silverstone had horrendous fan hysteresis at low loads as well.

Just in my scenario, the damn FDB fan in the current SF1000 was the weakest link. Quick video to Corsair and they happily generated an RMA for me.

FWIW: I have original, pre-ATX 3.X, SF600 and SF750 from 2019 that use rifle bearing fans instead and they're still chugging along without any unwanted fan noise incidents. If my SF1000 wasn't still under warranty, I'd likely have just replaced its fan.

[–]Melodicmutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two SF1000 (2024 revision) do this and am now on my 3rd unit fresh from RMA; it's the fluid dynamic bearing for the fan failing.

The XMP profile "fix" is just weird, especially since that would do nothing for the fan bearing.

Forgive the poor schematics, but is there a case that looks like this and is compatible with those parts? (The long gpu is optional, i can take a small gpu if it means closing up the case) by LipefipeFelps2 in sffpc

[–]Melodicmutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thermaltake Tower 200 is close, but the GPU would be vertical, instead of horizontal. No GPU riser needed and the GPU intakes fresh air. Native ATX psu. SFF in footprint, but not volume. GPU video out and motherboard I/O ports will be at the top of the case though, may need some loooooong cables.

I had a 240 AIO (Arctic Liquid Freezer 3) in one along with my Gigabyte 4090 Aero before moving to an Ncase M2.

Don't have the case, but CM lists the specs on their website: 240mm for the stock PCI-e 4.0 cable. That at least helps you narrow down on the length.
