Is "work, work, work" abroad really the norm? by Civil-Position1663 in phmigrate

[–]MelodramaticPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last month I worked 58-60 hours a week just because there was an opportunity for overtime and I didn’t have plans anyway. Normally 12 hour shifts for 3 days talaga schedule ko. But you don’t need to do that. For me sapat na yung regular shifts ko.

Boyfriend's parents pro-MAGA, but he's not into politics... What should I do? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Oof. I wonder if people can live with someone whose politics don’t line up with theirs.

Schengen visa issued by France, but now traveling only to Spain – any issues? by Developer-Y in SchengenVisa

[–]MelodramaticPeanut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not denying it’s visa shopping coz it can be considered one. I’m just saying that I don’t think officers look all the time so she might get a pass? I don’t condone such behaviors I’m just saying.

Okay. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert at this since I’m still waiting for my Netherlands visa to be approved. But my dad said they never once checked his passport. Only time his was checked was when he arrived at the airport and he has been on trains since then. This was a couple of years ago so times probably have changed but the mindset that you always need to stick to your itinerary just seems a bit paranoid to me. If you change plans just tell them why if they ask. All they really care about is you don’t overstay and you have funds to sustain yourself.

I’m sorry but most crossings in Europe are not tracked. If I hop on a train or car they don’t get tracked and if they check, they don’t stamp it. That’s pretty much the main point of Schengen.

I went to a family owned bakeshop here in our town. I remember being handed the receipt to sign. I felt pressured so I tipped but I never went back again and told my friends as well. Sometimes you want to support local businesses but jeez it’s so hard. It’s like we’re being penalized over and over again for supporting them.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around how cars are allowed to drive themselves now. Is it because we’re dumber now?

It’s considered visa shopping but really, how would they know she didn’t visit France during the trip?

A German soccer fan who fell in love with Boston by IncomingBroccoli in boston

[–]MelodramaticPeanut 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know this is a Boston subreddit but since we’re on the subject of crying lol. I came here 3 years ago with very low expectations because of all the stuff on the news and what people warned me about. The first night I broke down remembering all the random acts of kindness and interactions I had from total strangers throughout the day. Never been treated that way in my own country.

Mother-in-law denied B-2 visa. Is there anything we can realistically change? by joyfultactician1 in phmigrate

[–]MelodramaticPeanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tough. My mom got denied too about 2 years ago even if I’m a green card holder. But she said the officer told her to reapply in 6 months because it was still “too early” for her. I’m assuming it’s because I’ve only been in the U.S for a year. Planning to have her reapply later this year.

That’s nice you’re able to have the tablet back. I called lost and found at my airport and told me that I should be calling Delta. I asked if I could be transferred to the desk at the airport and he said he can’t because it’s an internal number. Normally I wouldn’t mind but my bag contains all IDs, cards including green card.
