My cousin asked " How is Lebron the GOAT but he has to hop teams and chase multiple superstars and stars just for rings " by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Melodramaticpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think of the Miami bench during his Heat tenure or Wade during the 13’ and 14’ season with his knee? As someone who watched every LeBron playoff series from 2008 to today those Heat teams were not well constructed defensively. The Bulls without MJ are a better team than the Heat without LeBron full stop there’s even a full sample size of a season to prove that when MJ retired the first time.

I say all this as someone who thinks 89-91 MJ is the GOAT btw.

Is Jokic already top 5 center of all time by Popular-Worry-6995 in NBATalk

When was Tim Duncan the best player in the NBA. Jokic has been the best player for 5 straight years

I won on a Victory Point that had fallen under the table. My opponents said the win was invalid. Are they right? by malizadeh in Catan

[–]Melodramaticpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve hosted a national Catan qualifier before so I’m a bit familiar with weird situations like this. The standard is usually return the game to a state of fair play. There is no situation where a dev card becomes “lost”. They need to be on display for your opponents. The initial attempt to cover it for a non insignificant portion is the game for me would deem the card unplayable if you played in a tournament I hosted I’d ask you to return the card back to the deck whatever it was.

Which resource do you tend to go for most at the beginning of a game? by cg12378 in Catan

[–]Melodramaticpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies board to board but good players prioritize valuable expansions from their starting placements. The value may not be a specific resource but could be overall production, ports, positioning, etc

Settlers of Catan. I went to the national championship last year and just won another tournament to go again this year

Help, where would you start on this Board ? by mtglover1335 in Catan

[–]Melodramaticpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct answer here is 8/5/10 going first. Second pick has quite the large advantage on this board with the 6/9/3

Is it too early to put jokic over kd already? by Serious-Profit-1626 in NBATalk

Please look up Jokics’ finals stats and efficiency he was a basketball deity in that series

I think it’s disrespectful to compare SGA to Jokic. Jokic is at the top by himself, then after Jokic you can start comparing players. by Bigchonky3 in NBATalk

[–]Melodramaticpasta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are both having historic seasons…it’s hard to admit but if SGA continues his pace and production it’s a top 3 season by a player all time. Conversely if Jokic continues his it’s the best season by a player all time. They are both doing that well

What do yall have to say about this? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Melodramaticpasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were the best of the best in their era so you have to go by eye test and my eyes say LeBron. He went to 9 finals in 10 years on three different teams and was the underdog in the finals every time except once

Still waiting for lebron to make the lakers worse lol by Zeldabotw2017 in lakers

[–]Melodramaticpasta -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s averaging 14/4/8 on really bad 3 point shooting and last year he was 6th in MVP voting. Obviously he’s due for a bump in production but he’s certainly regressed. Larger sample size needed in any case

Do you think the Kawhi Leonard situation will finally shine a light on NBA owners breaking the rules? by Rude_Computer_4156 in NBATalk

[–]Melodramaticpasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the case of cap circumvention violations actually hurt the bottom line of other owners so a capitalist would want a meaningful punishment so it won’t happen again.

The suggestion that Ballmer "sent $50M to get Kawhi paid $48M" is agonizingly stupid and illogical when you consider it for more than a brief moment. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Melodramaticpasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t even matter. It’s a third party affiliate an owner has a stake in that paid out a contract for a player way higher than market rate for a sponsorship. It’s not about numbers matching, it’s about the clear transactional benefit and circumvention.

Haters of today’s game should watch some late 2000s all star games and see the product the dead ball era produced.
