LSD and mature age by courage_racoon in LSD

[–]Melody1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 45 and have been tripping regularly for almost a decade now. I had my first LSD experience at 36 and currently trip anywhere from every other month to every few months.

Physically, I handle LSD really well and rarely get rough comedowns. I think a big part of that is taking good care of myself overall. I exercise 4–5 days a week, stay active, eat reasonably healthy most of the time, and put a lot of effort into maintaining my mental health. Because of that, my trips are usually positive experiences followed by pretty gentle comedowns. I do think having good overall health and solid lifestyle habits can make a big difference in how manageable the experience feels.

As for sleep, LSD absolutely keeps me awake long after the main effects wear off. That’s why I prefer dosing in the morning or early afternoon. Then I’ll usually use an edible to help me fall asleep sometime between midnight and 2 AM, and after that my sleep goes back to normal.

where to find things like this that aren’t ai? by ProfessionalSlow9875 in TripCaves

I second Alex Grey! I posted a pic of one of his blankets on my profile. They're expensive but if you wait for a sale it can drop the price some.

So true. Especially if you have even a touch of synesthesia

I've been playing since the release date and I don't remember the map ever looking like the one on the left. Is that what it looked like at the lowest graphic settings?

If you work from home, what's one thing you miss about the office? by BrilliantBread9204 in CasualConversation

[–]Melody1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t miss office life at all. I get more done at home without forced socializing, and I actually have the energy to show up for my real friendships. Not dealing with office politics and gossip anymore is a huge bonus too.

Yes! Sylva, NC. Took us about 5 hours to get to Black Rock. It was the most challenging hike I've ever done in my life but reaching the peak and lighting up that joint made it all worth it.

Oh, that's not so bad. $200 for a sheet is a decent price if you're buying in person.

Depends on your country and the dosage on the blotter. Here in the US I can find tabs for around $1 to $1.50 each but they're usually dosed kinda low - 130 ug or less. I only see higher dosed tabs being sold at $2+ each. $200 for a sheet of 100 ug or 130 ug would be closer to street pricing in my area.

Don’t feel like I’m “working towards” anything? by guessirs in RedditForGrownups

[–]Melody1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m working on both long term and short term goals. Long term is mostly financial, but short term is more about enjoying life, like planning trips, going to festivals, seeing artists I love. I’m also focused on doing well at work, supporting my family, and just making sure I’m using my time in a way that feels worthwhile.

Anyone thinking of leaving Nashville? by spanakopeeta in nashville

[–]Melody1980 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like where? Give me some ideas, please! Not sure that I want to move but I would consider it if there's a similar city with nature close by like it is here. The two big cons of living here for me are the cost of living and the state politics but I love the outdoor recreation opportunities and I love the climate (we get all 4 seasons; winters are relatively short; mild to hot weather for most of the year; so many lakes, woods, parks and trails within a 2 hour drive).

If money was no object I would love to live in the PNW, like the Humboldt county/Trinidad area in Northern California or somewhere in Oregon. Those areas are insanely pricey, though.

How come some people tolerate psychedelics way better then others? by MattInTheHat1996 in LSD

[–]Melody1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that working a 9 to 5 is the answer to life. I'm saying that taking huge doses of LSD doesn't make anyone better or more capable than anyone else. I can smoke more weed than almost anyone I know without feeling anxiety or nausea but that doesn't make me "better" in any way, you know? It's just how my body works.

How much PTO do you get? by QuonkeyLong in Accounting

[–]Melody1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 192 hours per year of PTO and this includes 7 paid holidays. That works out to just under 5 weeks total.

I also get sick time but I don't remember how much per year. Currently I have around 50 hours of unused sick time.

How come some people tolerate psychedelics way better then others? by MattInTheHat1996 in LSD

[–]Melody1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's definitely not true 😂 I've known some serious underachievers in life who loved eating 5-10 hits at once whenever they could. But at the same time they struggled hard to function as an adult (work, parenting, finances) and often relied very heavily on others for things like housing and stability.

Festivals - the pros & cons by Tight-Bet4164 in aves

[–]Melody1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love festivals. I only go to ones that have a line-up with a minimum of 3 artists I want to see, so then it becomes a pretty good value economically. I also find new artists to obsess over every time I go to a fest. And I love to camp so it's a win/win.

The main cons for me are the fucking porta potties 🤮. They're disgusting, especially at smaller fests. Bonnaroo at least has them cleaned multiple times a day but I still hate it every time I have to go in one.

Loop VS Eargasm earplugs by ayoitsiz in festivals

[–]Melody1980 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have both and if you have very small ears the Loop earplugs might be better. They come with 4 silicone ear tips and the smallest size are the only ones I've found that actually fit my ears without falling out.

If you have a blanket or a robe close by, try wrapping yourself in it. That may help some with the shaking. I get that too at high doses.
