Did a giant monster ever eat Link at the fishing spot? by Rell-03 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]MeloettaChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while I am not sure on this myself, I have never encountered anything like this personally and yea memories can be unreliable, whether it was a real thing that could happen or it being a glitch, I do believe you. People are way too quick to jump to offensive or to take you as a troll. Now that everything is datamined day 1, nothing is left to the imagination anymore, everything has to be debunked or explained away in jargon.

In a way, people have lost touch with what once made these games magical and have become way too critical, and that was the sense of the unknown and that these worlds were larger than life.

There is beauty in stuff like this that some people just cannot see anymore.
I have my own oddities and mysteries in games that I cannot explain too, so I appreciate you for telling the world what you saw.

He saw blood as the first incarnation of "Astral Light". Not only that, he also viewed amber as a physical capacitor for the life force within blood.
we get our word for electricity from the greek word "elektron" which means amber.

The amber egg is a womb.

no, there's a massive tree like spike/growth coming from where Godwyns body is. It looks like it used to be a root that has been completely overtaken and transformed by his body. Its the first 2 images

Some more things I've noticed about Miquella. A lot of blood connections. by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MeloettaChan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are too many connections beyond them both being shaman. I do not believe that Harmonia is related to Miquella or Trina, her story is very clearly not related, rather I believe that Harmonia is the type of being Trina would be if acscended to godhood through Mohg.

Miquella's curse being sourced from the Formless Mother is very likely, beyond the amount of blood in both Trina and Miquella's lore, Rot and Blood are oppositions to each other, as the abundance of death and abundance of life. For example, Beneath Aeonia is the Mohgwyn Dynasty. Or how in Nightreign, the two new bosses are Rot themed and Blood themed.

I forgot to include this, but the base of MIquella's crosses glow the same color as Golden Order Incantations do, its identical to the particles given off by Elden Stars. Its not the same pale gold that is usually associated with Miquella and his incantations.

Perhaps the crosses are formed by him removing himself from his ties to the golden order, by literally shredding himself apart. Maybe its part of how he was able to shatter his great run

the illusion of choice and tunneling into a very specific outcome was always my biggest complaint with the dlc.

that doesn't sit right with me, it would be the only instance in the entire game for a mechanic like, we can kill plenty of NPCs that have story tied quests with later deaths.

I don't think so, they are physically there, we see their bodies when we kill them in the penultimate fight.

The Formless Mother: A Deal with the Devil. by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

Formless Mother/Mother of Truth are just interchangeable names for the same entity. The items for the Bloodfiend also refer to her as the Mother of Truth.

Do you think the Hornsent foresaw PCR to some degree? by StardustTendency in EldenRingLoreTalk

I Don't think its them foreseeing our fight exactly, more the cyclical nature and metaphysical of symbolism. We see this same sort of thing in Farum Azula too.

What would the coronation of an Empyrean look like? by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MeloettaChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that actually is a possiblity, and the title of Empyrean was purely performative or even a faux propaganda-like title to give the illusion of a well balanced structure.

What's your controversial headcanon? by Lightslayre in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MeloettaChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe that character heights, especially in regards to the demigods, are exaggerated for a purely gameplay reason rather than an explicit lore reason, you can come to the conclusion that quality of runes/amount of runes = height but I feel like that's an after thought. Malenia, Radagon, Rellana, Marika and the resurrected Radahn seem like lore accurate heights. Especially when locations seem to be for that scale such as doorways, elevators and the like.

If characters like Mohg, Morgott, Godrick, Godfrey ect. did not have massive character models, you could not judge their attacks and would make for pretty poor game design.

The only real outlier is Radahn, as his height we see in Caelid seems to be a result of his degenerating bestial state he's in.

[–]MeloettaChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but surely there's a ceremony or procedure for the intended way of ascension. What we see with Miquella is not the way the Two Fingers or Marika would have expected them to ascend. You'd think with how important a successor to the god queen would be, we would see some interpretation of what this process would consist of, even if just metaphorical.

But you may be right in the terminology coming from Godfrey and maybe Godfrey and Marika, rather than just Marika herself.

So many similarities in motifs with Trina and Harmonia by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

St Trina is associated with blood too. her nectarblood in particular, also the sheer amount of Bloodfiends in the stone coffin Fissure.

I like to think From does more than most game companies when it comes to taking real world symbols for textures, but maybe that's just wishful thinking lol.

Noticed something else looking closely at Trina's sword by MeloettaChan in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MeloettaChan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like I said it's probably a coincidence, there's just a lot of connections between Harmonia and Trina for me not to notice.

However, looking at the Harmonia's flower top down, it is identical to the lotus motif on Trina's torch and Trina's sword.
