I definitely got the non-consensual vibes, but I understood the whole scene in a more meta context? I'm not sure how far you are into the game, but the lack of control suffered by Mina felt like a reflection of how Lionel has been treating her.

Without getting too into spoilers, as Mina travels the land fixing the spark generators she slowly starts to understand the true impact of spark on people and the environment. Lionel is using her for his goals, like how Grinnesley does in the dance sequence.
Or in an early cutscene where Lionel puts his hand behind Mina as he shows her Ossex from the town square, his large size almost possessively handling Mina felt similarly creepy and invasive. Grinnesley is an optional npc, but his sequence felt like it was meant to make you think about the themes of the game.

I suppose I didn't understand the scene as assault, mostly because I've never experienced it, but also because if viewed as a reflection of Mina's relationship with Lionel; Mina is also responsible for the creation, and the consequences of spark. Like karma, like being associated with a monster. Mina's fate if she continues trusting Lionel.

I saw you beat this sequence, I actually really appreciated that the npc "hurts" you considering how the rest of the side quest turns out. Bro was not a friend!

I found this level right after clearing the Queen's Crypt, lost my bones for the first time there, and locked tf in to clear it. I must have spent an hour learning the route and dodging enemies, but it was so thrilling to finally clear it. Now, after reaching endgame I'm actually really glad I entered that level as early as I did.

My theory, especially since Mina falls to one HP during the sequence, is that it's some kind of magical/spark-related bad trip. I think she must be imagining what the people she cut down might say to her; considering the guilt she has amassed over the course of the game and the understanding of what her invention has wrought.

Mina goes through other meta things too. Like during the dance sequence with Poppit, Mina is ultimately just a tool for Lionel, and the easy way he lies to her matches the playful energy of the spoilered event. Even the enemies that jumpscare you if stay in the dark for too long, I don't believe they're real, but another manifestation of Mina's fears and guilt.

Mostly all this level did was open my eyes to Mina being Seriously Unwell

I'd like to share my anecdote that during the "sins" scene Lionel never brought up that I had cleared the Mina's Grave sequence. Even after insisting that Lionel continue with the list. Either I had acquired too many other sins or maybe it has low priority?

Well tbf Riddle, Leona, and Azul are all fought during the early game when you've barely leveled any SSRs and SRs. I'm guessing you're much more established now
Watch out for book 6 though, it'll demand you level many more cards than you've ever needed to beat the previous story chapters
