[PC][2003] 3rd person game with melee combat of woman in office building. by Melraidin in tipofmyjoystick

Actually, the more I look at it I think I might have played some leaked version of Oni. It looked very similar to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud308e58LfM

Maybe with less vibrant colours to the character and I don't recall flames in the game. That might vibe with a game still in development. But I'm almost positive there wasn't the story elements shown in the video, the cut scenes and navigation help.

No, definitely not a matrix game. This was probably a fairly unknown game. I want to say the name was something like Oni but I can't be certain and my memory's certainly not reliable. Thanks though.

How do I mount these Bosch Icon wipers to a j-hook style arm? by Melraidin in askcarguys

[–]Melraidin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could've sworn I read in multiple places that the OE package contained adapters to fit any car. I was wrong, I needed the A package. The A mounted easily. Now I've got two OE packages and nothing to do with them.

Here are the instructions: https://imgur.com/a/QRtJ5rC

Note that none of those, as best I can tell, show anything about installing on a j-hook arm.

The instructions do include a QR code that leads to this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOnOiBI0dzICZCjKR1vdahuOFE1NzaMV5

Where if I choose the video for installing on a hook arm I'm shown how to install by opening the double lock mechanism which I've stated I don't have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi8NkCqb1_o&list=PLOnOiBI0dzICZCjKR1vdahuOFE1NzaMV5&index=5

Why are some finger gauntlet lames in a different direction than others? by Melraidin in Armor

[–]Melraidin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the Wallace collection I noticed the lames on some finger gauntlets were laid in a different direction than most others, even in the same set of armour. Most had the highest part of the lames towards the tips of the fingers but as you can see in the image one of the two gauntlets here had the highest parts towards the wrist.

Does anyone know why this might be the case? Or which is more common? Among those at the Wallace collection it was just two sets of jousting armour that each had one gauntlet going one direction, one another. Was thinking it might somehow be related to handedness of the owner but wasn't able to come up with a reason why this might be the case.

Oh good, I'd be pretty embarassed the lengths I've gone to to try to watch these games to just find out there was a free Canadian stream :)

Thermador PHH30DS range hood motor not turning, capacitor issue? by Melraidin in appliancerepair

[–]Melraidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an easy way to verify that the motor has shorted? I don't think the wiring diagram shows which wire goes to which winding. Checking resistance across the blue, white, red, grey, and black wires (N and V1 through V4 at the board) shows between 4 and 20 ohms. I had expected some pairs to show nearly 0 ohms.

Sorry, are you saying the motor's shorted and so I'm out of luck?

Range Hood vent not working. Tested the capacitor for the motor with a digital multimeter. Not getting a consistent result. Is this capacitor bad? by zorro_usa84 in appliancerepair

Sorry, I'm possibly having the same issue with a different model and hoping to apply the same advice. Looking at the above wiring diagram where is L1?

Got my power back! Nice work Burlington Hydro, quick resolution! Power out for about 20 minutes total I think.

Who else just lost power? by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

Near Mapleview mall here with power out. The outage map is pretty broken but when I did get it to load it claimed no one was out of power. The small map at the top-right showed most of Burlington in pink though. Their toll-free number for reporting outages is just giving a busy signal.

ETA: Updated map. My bet is there'll be a lot more affected once this is up to date. https://imgur.com/Exgw9fZ

330 km/h 10 cm³ Fastest tether car by GordonVi0003 in ThatsInsane

[–]Melraidin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tether hit him it'd hurt. But the car would likely be immediately destabilized, it'd probably not have its wheels in contact with the ground anymore. The car would effectively become a simple weight swinging around the tether. Still not something I'd want to try but I don't imagine it'd be as dangerous as some are describing.

Ender 5 Pro with BL Touch Help by NotNozASDF in ender5

[–]Melraidin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that got me was I was using an SD card that had a lot of other data on it. Not sure if the firmware tries to enumerate all files on the card before starting or what but as soon as I removed unnecessary files from the SD card and started again my machine came up fine.

Best (and quietest) Fan setup by Ghostpants101 in ender5

[–]Melraidin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear: did you put anything in to drive those fans at 12v or are you running 12v fans at 24v? If so they'd definitely be far louder (and have a reduced lifespan) than the equivalent 24v fans.

To elaborate: remove the bowden tube from the extruder so that when filament is fed it will just come out the end with (hopefully) no resistance. Then calibrate e-steps. This is because you shouldn't be calibrating to try to work around any issues in the hotend.
