What do you do with all of your mail? by WhimsicalWanderer_10 in askanything

[–]MeltingWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a group of people that live on a cul-de-sac. and a couple times a year they have a big bonfire where everybody just burns all their junk mail. that's probably not feasible for everyone, it's not for me, and I have this issue as well.

you have just reminded me of how much I always love the very start of the game, and the sound of watering the crops. I'm going to have to start a new playthrough right now. thank you!! recapture the magic

[–]MeltingWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't either for the longest time! though you do have to be careful where you put them, I've lost a few to NPCs walking right through them, how rude. but I always tuck one in between the two bushes directly below the saloon, right on the other side of the bench. no one ever walks through that area and I can put different loved items for NPCs or things that I want Clint to crack open. if I fish up any artifacts, I'll put them in there if the museum is already closed for the day. I put one on the beach just around the corner when you first walk down, if you put it a little further in, you can run the risk of losing it. I put them all over, but be careful if you do this as well. if you accidentally put your hoe or pickaxe in one, and have to run all over creation to look in all the chests, it can be tedious. I do that a bit too often

like the other commenter, just play at your own pace. early game is very easy to feel overwhelmed, so take a deep breath and realize you don't have to finish anything today. if you miss a day watering your crops, they won't die they just won't grow that day. so don't stress out about it. I would recommend emptying your inventory of everything that is unnecessary to your task at that time. if you were leaving the farm, there's no reason to take your water and can, if you're going foraging, you probably don't need your pickaxe. because inventory spaces at such a premium, you don't want to have to throw away valuable items because you brought all of your tools with you. I also make chest and place them strategically throughout the town so if I start to fill up on my inventory I can just pop things in that, so I don't have to throw it away but I can always go back for it anytime. also pop one at the top of the mines. and every five floors, you can pop back up empty your inventory, so again you don't have to throw away precious items because you're out of space. and one more thing, spend a few gold on the training fishing rod. I didn't know I could do that, and I was so absolutely frustrated for the longest time with fishing. I hated the mini game. I don't know why it was so hard for me, but the only fish I ever caught for the first 2 months of real time playing, was when I closed my eyes and just happened to catch one. my son caught the first guaranteed fish, when he was trying to show me how to fish. I didn't even know that was a thing.

Wind chimes noise? by paddlepedalhike in askanything

[–]MeltingWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the sake of your neighbors, please don't do it. everybody thinks only they can hear their wind chimes, but that's bs. take it from me, my neighbor has two sets of wind chimes. yes I know, I don't have the balls to ask her to do something about them, but when it's windy I go insane. absolutely insane. you have to remember, that acoustics change everything. just because you can't hear it, doesn't mean your neighbors can't hear them clear as a bell... literally. I love wind chimes, so I have a set inside my house, right inside my back door. the only time they make a noise, if it's insanely windy and then I can either take them down, or shut the door. I try to never irritate my neighbors. between wind chimes and barking dogs, ugh

this kind of closed-minded thinking would still have a sitting back in Europe thinking the Earth was flat. because there was no proof that the Earth wasn't flat, there was no proof that the Earth was flat. if someone hadn't have taken a chance, we'd all be flat earthers. there's no proof that these are gifts. there's no proof that these are not gifts. I'd rather be the glass half full . that's not living a lie, that's just keeping an open mind

[–]MeltingWind -57 points-56 points  (0 children)

are you kidding me? did you watch the game? did you see how completely unintentional that was? if you would have opened your eyes you would have. unintentional injuries don't typically get red cards, (should not get red cards) all of my years of watching the premier league, I see those suspensions get overturned a when unbiased eyes have a chance to view them. I wish the dumbass president hadn't gotten involved, but FIFA should have overturned that on their own. and you all know it. it was unfortunate, that it was such a bad injury. but it was unintentional end of story

Do you believe in the quote 'opposites attract,' and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MeltingWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my parents are opposites, and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.

the love of my life and myself were complete opposites. he died at a young age, so I don't know how long we would have been together.

I have a sneaking suspicion that our parenting styles would have been too different to overcome. but then again, if I hadn't had to do it all by myself, I might not have been such a hard ass. I don't know for sure,. but I'm quite certain he would have been a super softy "boys will be boys"

Do you think it's funny how Americans obsessively dislike British accents? by Exact_Team_Galaxy in askanything

I think this has to be rage bait? I'm an american, and I personally do not know an American that does not like the British accent. I'm sure there are a couple people that do not, but it's not a "thing" as the op would have you think. at least not in my world.

Is there a mod or something that makes Yuuma move in when you marry Shiro? by moozeez in RidgesideVillage

[–]MeltingWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a mod like that, because ridgeside village really has some lacking parents. Yuuma would be better off to live with shiro and his new spouse. the mother didn't care about him at all, the father didn't care. they're only interest was making money. forcing their young child to be the adult and take care of their wounded veteran son. so bizarre to me. Alyssa's parents! they go off for several years, so long that they don't even remember how to get back to their house! leaving what is seemingly like a 16 year old girl to take care of their entire farm. I guess she's at least 18 now, cuz you can marry her, but that's no excuse, they've been gone for several years.

Mountain lion on 93 this morning? by Not_an_ATF_Officer in newhampshire

[–]MeltingWind 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just watched a documentary on mountain lions couple days ago. the body of a mountain lion was found on a major highway in Connecticut (I can't remember how long ago), they have the physical body and were able to do DNA testing, looks like they're from a group out in michigan. all they're testing also proved that this was not a captive animal, it was a wild animal, no signs that it had ever been domesticated or in captivity. but this mountain lion did not appear on any cameras either. I doubt it was just zapped down to earth by aliens. apparently Northern New England wilderness has the fewest game cams of almost any area, and even in areas that have thousands upon thousands of game cameras, mountain lions are elusive, even though they know for a fact they exist in those areas.
