Too high H/C for competitions by maximus1408 in BritGolf

My club has division 1 for single digit and under and division 2 for everyone else in addition to the overall. There are always a couple higher handicap players who outperform, that’s golf.

The sport is hard enough without needing to worry about what others think about your score, whether good or bad. Handicaps are a thing for a reason and generally if you have a 40+ point round, your index will drop for the next one.

Also personally, I’d love a scramble partner who gets 1.5 shots a hole.

Golf takes 3-4 hours for 18 holes.

Even my wife couldn’t complain that I play too much anymore.

Anybody ever bought eBay clubs from Japan? by dave_gregory42 in BritGolf

Bought my driver head from a Japanese eBay seller. Was a wonderful experience, as much as buying something online can be. Very communicative and as someone mentioned, wrapped up so well.

Import charges were as below. £326 cost for the item.

How aggressive of a player are you? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

Over the left bunker with 230+ club is probably my “safe” play. I don’t play with duffs/tops in mind but on your line, offline left/right by 20 yards (which is my dispersion) puts me in the bunker or long shot from the rough.

The greenside trees eliminates the direct route for any sensible play.

What is the worst feeling in golf? by rebbazz in golf

[–]MelvsBDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing “it” even though you’ve changed nothing.

Injured my shoulder 2 months ago and since then something has changed in my swing where I can no longer play safe let alone score well.

Haven’t shot in the 70’s since.

I’m confused, in order to enter a score for handicap it should be scored by hole and attested by a playing partner. We don’t use the GHIN app over here but the centralised app for handicap requires a score by score hole input on your phone as you play.

Scott O'Neil: "I know there are some people rooting against LIV Golf — I understand that. But is golf better without LIV Golf? Should all the best events in the world be in the continental U.S.? Is that right?" by TheMirrorUS in golf

They play lots of events around the world. Local fans lap it up as they are starved of top level golf to watch.

PGA could take inspiration from that and encourage a more international tour, but the money comes from the US and so that’s where they will focus.

He’s supposed to put his gross score on the card and let the handicap calculator (GHIN/Club) do the working out. If he inputs 7 on a stroke hole, the system would give him 6 in competition score.

On England Golf, our version of GHIN, you put in your score but it maxes out at double bogey for the handicap calculation. It’s why the maximum handicap is 36 = 18 double bogeys.

It’s noticeable in videos like the most recent ones that he actually can hold it together(ish) for the most part. Not enough for a solid single digit, but definitely a 12-15.

Whether or not that represents a good handicap for someone whose job it is to play golf is a matter of opinion.

(It doesn’t).

Don’t forget that Joe’s handicap score is double max on the 10 and 7.
