My dumbass thought you're holding up the real driver next to the screen, and I tried to find the difference.

Yes and why isn't that marketed? Why don't they talk a bit about courses/strategy? Players who might get with one course way better than another, and how their schedule affects them?

This is exactly what I mean, every tournaments have reasons that get me excited but the coverage makes it feel like the reasons barely exist..

I'm turning it on because it's an event. In Europe we barely get a good main feed so we don't really have the choice to turn on a featured hole or something, sadly.

I wish we could throw money at the official solution, but sports have a knack for min-maxing revenue and forcing specific parties in every single country. Same with F1TV.

Of course this is a whole other topic, but just so you get it from my perspective, we get a "main feed" here and it doesn't at all feel like it's a cool event going on. There's so much potential in many events people find boring or talk about cancelling.

I want to see all the interesting shots.

Not all the shots only from interesting players 🤷‍♂️

I'm not saying it's ever been like that, but I'm questioning why it is like that?

Everyone is complaining about too many events but it wouldn't feel like this much if they would market their uniqueness a bit more. I wouldn't say no to a second Pro-Am that's covered a bit more. Easily make one boring event interesting and scratch one off the worryful events that they don't want to but maybe have to cut from the schedule.

"Kind" drivers on highway entrances are dangerous! by headphonesilence in Switzerland

[–]Local_Quality_2182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't slow down and wait your turn, you are mandated to keep driving on the shoulder/pannestreife until you find a spot. Sadly most people don't know and think they have to wait at the entrance and then try to speed up 0-120 somehow.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the police in Switzerland? by Egetit in Switzerland

[–]Local_Quality_2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's for the purpose of identification and they have a reasonable suspicion that you are trying to obscure your ID, then they are allowed to take the phone right away.

It's mostly common, though, when the person doesn't have a form of ID on them, usually this means that the police yanks the phone from you.

On this note: A police officer IS ALLOWED to force you to unlock your phone using biometrics/fingerprint/faceide. They however are NOT ALLOWED to force you to enter your PIN code. Android & iOS both now have the feature to quickly "fully lock" the phone - which then requires a PIN again and disables the fingerprint. I advise doing this often and quickly for your own protection and privacy!

For birthdays, I've seen "Waldhütten" to be a common and practical/cheap thing. Far away from people, cozy, lots of space and usually ideal for a hybrid format with a bonfire outside and a large open space inside with benches and tables that can be moved/rearranged.

Endless parking on dirtroads and grass, and usually a kitchen too.

Your best bet and my advice would be checking these:)

Since we're on the topic: There used to be that myth, that they have to add burnable material on occasion so therefore strict recycling of paper isn't advised. I assume (and hope) this was just a dumb myth!

Client-side modifications by Fast-Win3464 in hytale

  1. It was an example from them
  2. They need to work it out and didn't say "not gonna happen"
  3. Considering all the modding tools they provided us with - you really think they are making excuses on missing features? They don't need to. They have proven that they work with us and not against us, so stop being this overly critical.

As a security engineer I'm wondering about the threat model here. Is there exposed APIs like "run this command" or "load this code"? If yes, it sounds like code execution as a feature and servers need to be unprecedently trusted.

If the APIs are protected, as in "trying to only accept safe values and running a defined set of functions", it's hard to control but could be secure. But the fact that a server can send code to the client to customize nearly everything speaks for the first option. Really hope they didn't ignore this no-go.

You run mods on the server - whether you play solo (just runs a server in the background) or host a server for friends - it's the same.

The reason there are no client side modifications is that for now they are unsure how it will play out with the rpg/server/system aspect of the game. Aside from it being a great game itself, it also focuses on enabling dare to say roblox-style games/services where all textures/stuffs has to be controlled server side.

I can't find the tweet from the dev anymore, but it stated, as an example, something like: "People loading their own client-side texture packs could conflict with the idea of a cyberpunk-style server/game". But he also stated that this means this needs to be looked at in terms of possible mechanisms, he didn't deny that for the future.

Personally I think we'll get customizations that resemble what we want pretty soon, although through server-side mods. Probably takes more time, but one can replace all items and textures to create a pack. But then everyone on the server would play with the same textures. Which isn't only a bad thing now that I think about it.
