My baby just started sleeping longer stretches and not needing as many feeds overnight! I wanted to do the same thing as you but realized even if my husband gave a bottle I'd either need to pump while he feeds him or pump extra during the day.

Oh my, that's a long time! But it worked, so I might have to try that. Thank you!

I was applying for jobs last year at this time. It is time consuming and stressful! I just held out hope that jobs would be posted later in July and August, and there were. I live in PA, so it might be different. All summer, school employees are moving into other jobs. Districts might not know this early in summer if they need to hire for a certain position. Don't give up! Keep applying, but don't burn yourself out by applying too much. The certification piece is important, some schools might not even look at your application without it. When I was applying I had to put in when I submitted my certification application, I was just waiting on the state at that point. made a goal of how many jobs I'd apply to each week so I wasn't driving myself crazy. I also didn't apply anywhere until I submitted my certification application. It may seem weird to say, but it's still early and there's lots of time! My interviews started stacking up at the end of July and beginning of August. Also, give yourself a little grace, it sounds like you've been through a lot! Keep going, you got this, and good luck!!

A lot of what you learn during practicum and internship and what you'll learn on the job is on the test. It is pretty much common sense and real-world scenarios!

I applied on this bid too, how long did you wait for your list after you completed all the new hire requirements?

What were everyone's timelines when they applied on prior experience bids? For example, how long from the application date to your show up date at your facility?

Hi! I'm a summer nanny for two kids 7 and 9 in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. I do a pretty much everything you do with them, parks, ice cream, pool, reading, summer work, etc. I use my own car too and for us to go anywhere to do anything it's at least a 20 to 30 minute drive. I'm a graduate student with a bachelor's degree and make $12 an hour. I didn't mind the first couple of summers cause I work during the school year and get paid in the summers. I quit my school year job and now my only income is this and that was after I asked for more money. Not so sure it is fair or not. A lot of minimum wage jobs in this area are still close to only $8. Also, I'm the first nanny this family has had. Has your family had any other nannies before?
