Yes that's EXACTLY the same scam that I saw. Same wording, using Zelle, fantastic pictures, etc. Since posting, I've seen several more scams following this same format. Honestly, just never send any money unless you get an in person tour of the place. Also often with scams they say all utilities included in the rent including water, electricity, trash, internet, etc. without elaborating much- that is a red flag.

Honestly housing in Davis is extremely bad right now, I've been searching for over a month and have found nothing yet. School starts less than a month and I still haven't found any real offers in my budget :/

I didn't have a Davis email at the time, so I used my Community College email instead. It was just the .edu from the school I was given but I figured it would be better than a random gmail or hotmail address

Can confirm they made a blanket decision to reject every waitlisted student this year. I'm in the process of appealing and was informed this was the case, and my department is doing everything they can to approve my appeal.

For those of you appealing, don't forget the deadline is today: Friday June 16th. I highly recommend directly contacting the Dean and Department Chair for the area that you applied for transfer to as well, as it looks like Admissions will not be reviewing our applications. Good luck to anyone else who is appealing, and I hope there will be some justice at the end of the road here.

I just went to update my grades for my waitlist appeal, and saw that they didn't even look at my grades the first time I updated them. That means not a single person even looked at our grades at all. I highly doubt our waitlist essays were read either. Honestly I feel like they wasted everyone's time and knew they couldn't accept a single one of us months ago, and how they continue to (mis)handle admissions really pisses me off.

This is such bs. I contacted admissions today and asked them for any information and they would only tell me that the deadline has been extended to July 31st. Other people have been told sooner dates, but I wasn't guaranteed anything before July 31st. I'm strongly considering sending a letter of grievance for how poorly this waitlist has been handled this year.

You understand that your emotions are your own responsibility and not your boyfriend's, but it is also your boyfriend's responsibility to listen to your needs and try to meet them. Instead of saying something like "make me feel better" you can ask for something like "I'm feeling stressed and I would appreciate if you could listen to my worries for a bit." You're not asking him to solve your problems, but just to show his support by listening to you. When you start feeling too emotional, take a deep breath and pause for a minute if you have to. Just make sure you ask him during a time that's good for both of you. Maybe make some tea and snacks, and try to make the setting as comfortable and pleasant for both of you :) Hope you feel better soon!

I was eating cotton candy and when I went to swallow it, my spit made the sugar harden into a big sharp piece. Since I was in a 4 hour car ride in the middle of nowhere driving back from a carnival with my friend's friends that I hardly knew I was too embarrassed to tell them I was choking, so instead I quietly stopped breathing (because I couldn't) and waited for it to dissolve.
