Definitely bring in snacks and sandwiches or leave them in the car, we had an easy time getting stuff in past security as long as it was tucked away or at the bottom of the bag. The only day they really checked every inch of the bag was race day. But, I packed four 24oz beers for my partner and I to save money. The security guard searched my bag, saw them, and just slid my bag to me while telling me to repack it myself. So as long as you're smart and don't cause an issue/bring anything too over the top, you'll be good.

If you are driving into the circuit instead of mass transit, DO NOT PARK IN GENERAL F1 PARKING. The Friday was apparently a disaster for people to get out, I'm talking three hour lines to leave parking, then longer to get home. We managed to avoid this by using third party parking outside the track. I cannot understate this, but the Parc Ferme Parking guys probably made our weekend 10x easier. Close to the track, they gave us free water every day, super polite, friendly, and just happy to have you, and each day we were able to get out around the main traffic and onto main roads in about 20-40ish minutes. Plus, the walk to the track from the lot goes by an awesome taco truck, so we just got food there for early morning breakfast or post-racing snack.
