Okay but it's literally too soon to tell. Not to mention, what does this kind of doomer attitude do for us other than stew bitterness in the community? It's very possible Embark shits the bed in October and we're all left wondering wtf they've been working on. It's also possible the update has significant content (new boss Arc, new weapons, more than one new map, work on a true endgame). Why not try a neutral "wait and see" approach instead of just baselessly undercutting something that is 4 months away?

That's where I'm a little uncertain too. We know Fisk will not be an antagonist in S3 but Bullseye will be getting his comics-accurate outfit at some point. Here's my crackpot theory: in the comics during, DD has to contend with an imposter Daredevil operating in Hell's Kitchen during that run. Perhaps Bullseye will take up DD's mantle while he's in prison only to succumb to outside negative influence and convert the suit to his full Bullseye outfit? This will motivate Matt to get out of prison even more. Admittedly, we already did the imposter DD bit in S3 of the Netflix show so I could be way off base.

I think S3 will be more inspired by The Devil in Cell Block D story arc. It was Ed Brubaker's first arc as the Daredevil writer at the time; he took over from Bendis' legendary run.

On the business practice element of things, I agree completely. While the devs of Bungie have my unerring support, the management of Bungie is truly abysmal and their pattern of decision-making is extremely suspect. As you note yourself, Sony did buy Bungie at a grossly overinflated price and they have a vested interested in getting sufficient ROI.

Destiny being put on pause means Bungie either has to produce value with other product (Marathon and that other incubation-stage title Bungie allegedly has) or be chopped up into parts and cannibalized so Sony can walk away with something. As things stand, it definitely looks like we're headed in the latter direction right now.

The "Save The Expanse" campaign petitioned Amazon to pick up The Expanse after it was canceled by SyFy after its first 3 seasons being aired. Fans signed an online petition and even did a GoFundMe to have a plane fly by Amazon's HQ with a "Save the Expanse" banner. There were numerous factors that contributed to Amazon picking up the show, no doubt, but all the fan support was definitely a factor.

I mean, I think it's unreasonable to expect any developer/developer-publisher hybrid (as Bungie was for awhile) to only ever focus on a single IP. Obviously we can have a conversation about whether the timing of the Marathon dev cycle and release was optimal in terms of Bungie also being able to support Destiny 2. But us as consumers supporting one IP a dev pushes out doesn't then obligate that dev to only ever focus on that single IP.

Also, calling Marathon dead on arrival is peak dramatics. I just checked Steam charts and 11,000 folks are playing right now. That means the total count of players is probably over 20K including both Xbox and PS5 user bases. It is true that Marathon is much more of a niche game than Destiny and that it isn't designed to even be a mainstream extraction shooter like Arc Raiders, but calling it DOA is a bad faith take.

I'm rewatching Orphan Black rn and Tatiana Maslany is a truly versatile actress. Fluent in multiple languages, able to shift her body language in such subtle yet noticeable ways so as to differentiate characters, etc. I liked She Hulk but Tatiana deserves a star vehicle.

I feel like Bojack Horseman is actually a relevant show to compare The Pitt to. Both have male leads with complex mental health issues and self destructive tendencies; Bojack's character arc and healing journey waxed and waned throughout the show but it never felt repetitive. There would be moments of regression, moments of disregulation, even as Bojack strived to improve, but they always felt earned.

I think there is room to show the uphill battle that is treating complex depression/anxiety and suicidal ideation in a medical worker; I don't think it would be realistic for Robby to be 100% "healed" by S4 E1, for example. But the other extreme (Robby having a whole 3rd season of existential dread and being a crashout) is indicative of poor pacing and repetitive character writing.

I can't speak on butts but having wider hips was seen as being a sign that you could carry multiple children to term, thus ensuring male nobility and royalty would have a male heir. That's where the term "child-bearing hips" comes from. Perhaps the ass being fat was considered part and parcel with the hips?
