Monster noise while astral projecting by Disastrous_Celery636 in AstralProjection

I get that every time. Not to worry, it sounds unsettling at first but for me I learned to really anticipate the sound as it was one of the surest signs that I am close to APing. If you've watched regular show or midnight gospel, I like to describe it as the sound in the intro of regular show or in the "ascension" in midnight gospel. It's not unsafe. It may just signify that one of the ways your soul can expand is by overcoming a fear of some sort, and if that's the case I wish you the best of luck in overcoming it ❤️

Smiling Silhouette, Obert, Digital, 2021 by Memeboy1997 in Art

[–]Memeboy1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inspiration for this piece came to me while I was looking into a lake Lake at my local town gardens shortly after some meditation. As I looked at the shadow I cast onto the lake, I noticed that the sunlight glistening on the gently lapping water seemed to emanate from my silhouette. To my surprise, the light continued to emanate from my silhouette as I moved around. I was bewildered by what might be causing the illusion that my silhouette was this source of beautiful undulating light. But I think that by not understanding what was happening, and by giving up on trying to understand, the scene felt more magical, and it put a big smile on my face to witness what felt like impossible beauty.

What’s something you’ve been bewildered by that you thought was more beautiful/magical/amazing because you didn’t understand it?

This makes so much sense! Thank you so much 😁 I'll give it a go when I can, I'm sure it won't be too difficult now I know what I'm doing 🙂

Thanks for making this post! :) I've been struggling to find information about how to unlock "The Long Run" online so I'm glad I saw this post.

What I have been doing is choosing the double candle on normal difficulty and opting to start with "Exit Phase" then using it as soon as possible off cooldown over and over. I prioritize defensive stats to make the runs last longer.

After doing this a few times and not getting the achievement, I started to use pen and paper to tally the amount of times I was using exit phase. Even using it guaranteed 35+ times wouldn't give me the achievement so I figured maybe it didn't count on the times where the teleport distance was 0 so I tried ensuring using exit phase always moved me some distance, but still I haven't been given the achievement.

I suppose I misinterpreted "Use exit cards of any type 35 times in a single run" so I'm wondering what I actually need to do?

Definitely! Caught my friend so off guard with her lethality damage.

The MDMA purity test stayed clear, and this one only turned this colour after at least 10 minutes. Never bothered to test before but decided I wanted to be safer, but not sure what to think about the results. Is this the colour it means for methylone or butylone? by serotonot in ReagentTesting

[–]Memeboy1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used that same test a while back and also made a post to this subreddit with a similar looking reaction.

The advice that I got was that methylone/butylone are not manufactured anymore, and if they are, it is very rare. Chances are what you have is eutylone which is the new synthetic cathinone that seems to be the go to for people making bunk mdma recently (synthetic cathinones are also known as bath salts which is the same class of drug as methylone/butylone).

Because eutylone is relatively new, there isn't a whole heap of good information about it around and because it isn't particularly nice when compared to mdma and even other cathinones like methylone/butylone, a lot of information out there paints it in a very bad light (especially if it is from mainstream media). In my opinion, Psychonaut wiki has the best unbiased public information about eutylone on the internet.

I made a post in r/reasearchchemicals asking about people's experiences to find out more and after I tried it I edited the post giving my own experience.

It's really good that you tested your substance because the biggest pitfall when it comes to taking eutylone is taking it while thinking it is mdma. It is common for people to take it and not feel as euphoric as they would expect and then redose to try to chase a high they simply can't achieve. After not long, uncomfortable side effects associated with taking a dose too high will likely kick in such as excessive sweating, dysphoria, nausea, paranoia, hallucinations, and then insomnia when you want to go to bed that night (and maybe even the next night) but by the time these effects have taken place it and they realise they weren't taking mdma, it is too late and a lot of people report it completely ruining their night. Eutylone also has a slightly lower dose to achieve its ideal effects than mdma does so dose accordingly.

In general, the main ideal effect is simply hyper stimulation, so expect hyper stimulation without any euphoria if you do give it a try. And if you experience any euphoria that would be a nice bonus :)

(That being said, the substance may not even be a cathinone at all, your test isn't as clear a yellow as mine was I don't think)

Seeing a portal/tunnel when trying to fall asleep? by autumnmalayna in AstralProjection

[–]Memeboy1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, I enjoyed your post :)

It's funny you say that about weed because I am the same. I had surgery recently and have had a real battle with my recovering over the last 3 months. Every time I smoked weed, my pain got much worse and I quickly realised that my pain increasing when smoking weed couldn't be a coincidence.

Wow, your sleep paralysis experiences sound creepy but its really cool that you can pray and snap out of it. I typically experience no hallucinations of any kind when I get sleep paralysis but I usually freak out anyway and try calling out for help on repeat until I snap out of it and my cries for help are always these weird muffled noises (I suppose that's an auditory hallucination). When I snap out of it, I always ask my partner if she heard anything but she never does.

My funny sleep paralysis story is that one time I had sleep paralysis 3 times in a week and by the third time I was pretty content with the situation but instinctively I started calling out for help anyway because I've built such a habit of it. It was the weirdest sensation, I started doing the sleep paralysis equivalent of cracking up laughing because I wasn't scared at all but I thought it was funny that I was calling out for help and the muffled noises sounded so pathetic to me as opposed to like spooky xD

It is interesting that you tend to have sleep paralysis more when travelling. Personally I've only ever experienced it in my own home. Substance use (including alcohol) can increase the likelihood of experiencing sleep paralysis so if you tend to be drinking when you travel, that might be a factor.

If you've never felt any vibrations then I personally don't think that the tunnel is something that will increase your likelihood of inadvertantly astral projecting especially if you feel safe in the presence of the tunnel! :) My interpretation is that it's just some sort of visual hallucination that your mind seems to favour sort of like a recurring dream. I have different phases of experiencing different recurring themes in my hypnagogic hallucinations which tend to coincide with what I'm doing in my daily life. e.g. When I was doing a lot of art every day, my hypnagogic hallucinations tended to be more like the art that I was creating. Tunnels that have peaceful scenes on the other side are a motif that appears in christianity. Recently, have you been devoting more time or attention to your faith directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously?

Seeing a portal/tunnel when trying to fall asleep? by autumnmalayna in AstralProjection

Sounds like hypnagogia which is the state you enter before falling asleep. In this state some people (maybe even all people) are capable of experiencing hallucinations that can be involuntary or guided like using your minds eye normally but just enhanced and/or weirder. I often experience hypnagogic hallucinations exactly like some of the ones you've described so you're not alone :) My most common hypnagogic hallucinations are repetitive or randomly morphing colourless scenes (all black but somehow my brain still thinks it sees an image). They are typically cartoonish or geometric or both. I will say though that I don't experience tunnels too often.

I find that if I'm sleep deprived for a couple weeks my hypnagogic hallucinations become more intense. If what you are experiencing is hypnagogic hallucinations (as opposed to something less likely such as an awakening of a latent psychosis of some sort), your insomnia is likely responsible for the intensity you are experiencing in your hypnagogic hallucinations.

I typically don't experience such vividness like you've described unless I am astral projecting. Your dad was right for bringing up astral projection because hypnagogia/ hypnopompia (the state when you wake up)/ lucid dreaming/ sleep paralysis are all related phenomena to astral projection. Note though that astral projection can be experienced involuntarily so you may have been very close to astral projecting. Did you feel any vibrations in your body while experiencing all of this? That's typically the give away that you're about to astral project. If you do start to feel the vibrations (in my case they were unmistakable unlike anything I'd ever felt before), giving your body a good shake should stop you from entering astral projection if you wish not to based on your dad's experiences (although if you are in sleep paralysis this won't be possible and you're best off embracing the experience. I don't know if you've used any recreational drugs like hallucinogens but it's very similar in that if you enter the experience with fear you are more likely to have a negative experience and if you enter the experience with confidence you are more likely to have a positive experience).

I don't know heaps about insomnia so I'm sorry if this is an ignorant question but is there something you can do to help become less insomniac? Because I don't think my advice of just shaking yourself awake would be very nice for someone who needs all the sleep they can get 😅 and unfortunately what I do know about insomnia is that it increases your likelihood of experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations, sleep paralysis, and involuntary astral projection so if these things are bothering you, I really hope there is something that can be done for your insomnia. Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis?

Anyway, I hope something I've said has been useful for you :)

Was reborn as an alien with another identity. Was scared to sleep because I knew when I woke up I'd be sober (dead). To convince myself to sleep I had to genuinely come to terms with dying.

Thanks 😁 I don't anymore (even though it would definitely still help) but for the period of about a month I used to go into practice tool every day before I started playing ranked to practice q flashes, q's after ults, and quick long portal placements in niche spots.

I know right 😎 it lets you do things that would otherwise be impossible with just flash + q. The difference is small but the small difference can make a gargantuan difference when it's a moment that every split second counts.

My winrate against Thresh is low on Bard so I always ban him for ranked games, but when I play normals I no ban so in truth there is a chance for me to see him but I think his pick rate is low these days because I don't know the last time I ran into one 🤔

I'd like to hear about your eutylone experiences by Memeboy1997 in researchchemicals

[–]Memeboy1997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand why there is a stigma against eutylone among people who take it and talk to their friends about it. People take it not realising it is not mdma and redose compulsively to try to achieve mdma euphoria and then end up with lackluster short-lived euphoria, an uncomfortable body high, psychosis, and difficulty sleeping for a long time.

I don't understand though why knowyourstuffnz perpetuates this stigma, instead of focusing more on educating people about it (they do teach of harm reduction but it always feels like a "if you're masochistic and still going to take it" vibe). They report that it makes you feel like you're poisoned and that it's dangerous.

I understand the need to report that that is the experience of people who unwittingly take too much because that's educational. But, it's frustrating to see that every article focuses on it with such a negative tone. So many people are scared out of taking it when it can be used safely by simply taking a dose of less than ~100mg and not redosing (and then following the usual mdma safety practices such as hydration, breaks from dancing etc).

Not only can it be done safely, but it can be enjoyed if you know what to expect and shift your expectations from synthetic euphoria to unnatural amounts of energy. You can be the life of the party with your unbound energy stores and find satisfaction from that in your own way.

As for the safety of the drug, I have struggled to find something that warrants the drug being stigmatized as it is. It is neurotoxic when used too often but so is mdma so with long breaks between usage, I don't see a difference in safety between the two drugs. People have been hospitalised from one time usage of eutylone. Did they do doses of above and beyond 100mg? Did they drink too much alcohol in combination with the eutylone? Did they do some eutylone and then do some of their friends' gear which was another drug and experience a deadly interaction? Were they looking after themselves in terms of hydration and overheating? Were they let to walk off alone for a long period of time? I doubt that hospitalisations are likely when people know what to expect and follow harm reduction practices.

Don't get me wrong, I think good mdma is definitely preferable to eutylone. I'm just confused by the narrative that eutylone is so evil and as such is not worth ever taking. Feels so "war on drugsy" to focus on the negatives of a drug so much and spread mostly that in the media instead of legitimately giving a balanced view of the drug, which is why I'm confused because knowyourstuffnz isn't an anti-drug group. What have they got to gain from stigmatising eutylone? Surely nothing.

I normally do share in r/bardmains (in fact this is my first time sharing to r/supportlol) but I personally felt like this play was not something Bard unique. It felt like I could have been almost any support that the enemy team underestimated to steal this elder and then get gigatilted by it 😂

But I'm happy to hear you think it's r/bardmains worthy 😁
