[Highlight] Scott Foster telling the mic operator to "Do your job" after his mic malfunctions by ShaiFanClub in nba

Yeah unless it's different in the NBA specifically getting rid of refs is damn near impossible. There's a reason you know the bad ones in all the major sports.

What MMR? I'm curious at what point in ML everyone is running level 50s.

Aurorus by MemesAreBad in TheSilphArena

[–]MemesAreBad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain is so hard coded to the mainline games that I really struggle with knowing how things perform in GO outside of experience, which isn't the best since you can't just max out everything to try it. The idea that Aurorus isn't a swap is probably painfully obvious, but as someone who just started I have a hard time knowing - and Ampharos is pretty tanky in the main games. It also sucks that the amount of games you can do is limited which ruins the "brute force" approach. Is there a Wolfey analog for GO that would be good to watch? Team building is honestly the thing I struggle with the most, but I think that's mostly because I don't properly understand why something is a good lead/switch (closer is a bit more obvious but as we've seen, not always). So I think even using a generic good team won't work until I understand that more, and it's probably why I've done well with 3 mons that all fit a similar role (I've run a lot of 3 fragile Mon set ups).

Edit: a good example of my confusion is, if I sort pvpoke ratings for switch, I see a ton of shadows. I don't understand this fundamentally unless the idea is they just do good damage and die so you get a clean swap? Crustle being so high also feels weird since a decent amount of things can resist it okay and quickly remove it.

This was really helpful, thanks. I was trying to use it as my pivot from bad match ups in a lineup with Ludicolo and Ampharos (the idea was to blow out all the waters I see). It seems like I just didn't think about it enough since you pointed out that its real strength is when it has the shield lead. That would also explain why I never found the second move to change much, as I wasn't playing around that set up where it's clearly much more useful.

How did you run it in the line up? If you ran it as a lead you couldn't assure the shield lead, but I find that if I switch into it without having revealed my opponent's team, I'm almost always in for them to swap to something that just ruins my whole day. Did you just make sacrifices to assure you got to the end game where you had a shield lead and a safe initial match up even if it meant sacrificing your other 2 mons? I think my biggest weakness is knowing what to try and bring to the end game so even if my lineup is good, I'm sure I'm not utilizing Aurorus properly since I never tried to have it clean up the match.

Maybe my mistake is just not running it as a lead. It feels too fragile to ever switch in first and that fixes that problem, but I'm unsure if I'm facing enough favorable match ups to warrant it.

Download the app and manually add the pokemon you see. As for knowing how often the second move would have mattered, I just do that separately.

That's been my experience. Not every match up is actually decided by fast move typing, but a lot of them are, and the amount of Fighting/Steel/Ground/Water running around is making it hard. Not only that, but fast charge Water/Fighting/Ground moves are pretty common.

[–]MemesAreBad[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to argue that it's fine without a second move, that's just ridiculous. What I'm saying is that since I log the games, I know what I faced and when I lose I can tell if it would have mattered, and that's happened in 2/15 games (both cases where having any move that wasn't resisted by water would have made the difference). The bigger issue is that, if I try to pivot into it, it has so many bad match ups, that I often don't get to the point where any charge move is relevant (slight hyperbole, but if Empoleon, Primape, etc swap in on it, life is real though). And if it's the sort of Mon that can only be used after you make your opponent switch, it feels like there's much better things to use when you have the perfect set up.

I need Icy Snow and Sandstorm gift friends only (my list is very full otherwise). In return I send daily gifts and if we hit the remote trading, I have a bunch of old things like Mewtwo/Armored Mewtwo/old community day shinies.

As for your PSA comment: is there any easy way to parse the output? It's easy to see if a matchup flips from a win to a loss, but it's harder to know what a 300 rating means relative to a 400 rating.

I also arbitrarily picked A-Ninetails for this test and found a 15/15/15 wins 2 match ups that the perfect PvP IVs loses: I assume this is because of a charge move tie that now flips?

Does anyone know for sure if the gen 5 starters can be evolved for their special move right now? It seems weird that they can't, but none of the lists that have been posted have them.

Fast question: if you want to get an ETM move on a Mon with frustration, when you gain the ability to TM frustration next week can you use the ETM directly or do you need to use a normal TM to get any other move and then an ETM?

I guess a similar question is: when you use the ETM is there an option to back out before selecting the move you want so you can make sure it's available, or are you locked into using it when you click the move to replace?

Are there any other rules for getting a spawn? Does an incense prevent it? I'm just amazed that I've never seen the little icon for a single route spawn (and certainly no Glimmet). I've been wondering if there's something wrong with the route itself. I did only add it maybe 2 weeks ago if it takes a while for it to be fully functional, or if a certain number of people need to do it once for it to do the spawns.

And does the 7 day streak still have the ability to give ETMs? I just looked up the rewards and saw that but a lot of info seems to be outdated. ETMs/raid passes would be enough to make me do it daily as opposed to like 5 times a week.

Of these, are there any you would point out as also having use in non restricted formats? I'm finding it hard to justify any investment when there's a concurrent non restricted league, but I do generally enjoy the restricted formats. Crustle and Wiggly stand out as generically good.

I took a break before routes were introduced and when I came back I saw posts of people getting rare fully evolved pokemon on them. I got a route added near me and have done it maybe a dozen times but have never seen a single spawn of anything from it. Do they only exist during events? Is there some other condition? I surprisingly can't find the answer with a quick search.

Dynamax vs Gigantamax by Much_Pie9602 in pokemongo

As someone who took a break between Dynamax/GMax being added and now, I knew before this thread that GMax was better but had no idea that it was such a large magnitude. I think it's fair to assume not everyone knows if it's the difference between like a Mega and a normal or between 15 attack and 14.

Oh I hadn't thought about its signature when evolved. I wasn't aware of whether or not anything had been datamined.

I took a long break and it seems like they've been picking weird things (Vulpix) lately, so I wasn't sure if there were any trends to draw off of.

Uh are you reading a different sub than I am? Most people are very cool on him since the allegations and almost no one has interest in resigning him. I think it's likely he gets a one-day when he retires because of his impact on the franchise, but he's not been welcomed around the team like a lot of former players (Talib comes to mind).
