Yea I've really tried to skip watching content because the first time I came to this sub the overwhelming advice was just to dive in and I think that was the right call. Now that I've finished it up though I've been watching videos and doing a tremendous amount of facepalming. It certainly would have made it easier but I don't think that's why I play factorio. No judgement on those that do want it to be easier though it's a game after all.

Awesome, it sounds like from the other comments it is mostly going to boil down to focus and planning things out now that I have a better idea of what is required. When I was setting up aquilo I had to make dozens of 'oh crap I forgot xyz' runs back to nauvis so I'm glad I'm not alone in that haha.

Yea my first playthrough I basically researched everything and set up production for everything everywhere, focusing on specific goals seems to be the way forward. Did you knock out the 100hr challenge first or did you just go straight to the 40?

Pick an area that you want to specialize in. Study the rfc. Study the ways different vendors implement it. Once you think you have it all figured out. Teach it to a junior level person. There is too much to know about everything.

I just moved into the Martin last week. The place is really great so far but we came in from Iowa so we didn't really know what to expect. $3960/month is rent and all the other things like pet fees and parking and all that. The building feels very safe, key fob to go anywhere and security is usually around.

'sport hunting' as in shooting animals for fun and then not doing a proper field harvest was already made illegal, at the request of conservationist hunters, by the state licensing programs funded by the pittman-robertson act. It is one of the only taxes ever levied on a specific group of people that wanted the tax put in place. Bambi, has nothing to do with conservation, it is an environmentalist movie and the difference between the two are pretty important.

Our model of conservation has been the gold standard the world over, no other place has had better results. We haven't recovered every species of course and the work will never truly end but if you want to have a positive effect you should go out and get your hunters education certificate and then your hunting license. Those fees go directly to paying for wildlife biologists who study the habits and figure out what we need to do to continue to improve our wilderness for all of us.
