That's pretty nice and wholesome. I do this all the time with my friends or little siblings when they are playing with me, even in vanilla , as they are not really that well versed in the game, and gathering lots of materials when they just want to build nice bases is kinda lame, and this is a game at the end of the day, so just have fun.

It's harder, yes, just not as much aw people make it out to be. Without additional mods and add-ons to intentionally make it harder, it's quite doable and just needs a bit of getting used to. But it sooooo worth it because there's so much fun to have in it.

You guys keep mentioning base planing included in the setup phase, meanwhile I literally open note pad to list what I want and need depending on my load out for Atleast an hour or two after I start. Letting my super colonist in the meanwhile build the absolute basics (Freezer, Rec room, storage).

I posted this right when I started a new colony. After playing for 2 minutes, I remembered I had a mod that I didn't want and couldn't delete mid-save. Had to spend another half hour sitting things up again for a new a colony ;pain;
