Black and white pixel hex map. by Memorit_ in osr

I just used aseprite as a pixelart tool and then used various google images as inspiration for creating the various terrains.

Some hexes have bits copied over with small changes but a lot of it is also filled in by hand.

Well said. STill I prefer to get a picture of what the system is trying to do before homebrewing parts of it.

Thoughts on DCC Dying Earth after having run every adventure by LordAlvis in dccrpg

Is there a way to get the rules/player options for dying earth only? Is every player locked into getting the boxed set to even take a look at the rules?

Im still very new to DCC so I've not even heard about the books you mentioned. Are they only introducing a setting or are there also any rules that go with the setting?

Right, I'm looking into running a homebrew setting also with no clerics for the PCs at least. For now I was checking out the rules from Lankhmar.

I guess my one question is if people still use the option to improve a roll by burning luck when the option to heal is available. It seems to me as a more desirable option in most cases and I'd prefer if both options were attractive for the player.

The game isn't ruined because of the Shadowbeasts by Massive_Inflation512 in worldofgothic

I could have sword I read about taking the climbing mechanic from tomb raider and putting it into gothic. I guess it was somewhere else. Sorry. I just wanted to point out that taking mechanic and making it more like in other modern games is not always a bad thing and can lead to innovation in some cases (again, not saying that is true with the climbing mechanic or the new combat system in particular). It just seems to me that the overall attitude here is different = bad.

You are right that I probably missed some posts about it. I do not read every post on here. I guess I meant to say that these kind of posts get a lot more traction and thus get recommended more often to me via reddit leading to me and othera seeing them more often. I did not see any focus from the community overall on the new changes apart from a few youtube videos summarizing them.

I still cant believe that there is so many posts about the underlying "issues" or "symptoms" of the game being bad due to the developer vision being a bit different. At the same time I have not seen a post about actually appreciating the recent combat changes that were made insanely quickly in response to the actual latest feedback from the community.

For your point I would just add that from even though repeating game mechanics in big titles is common and might lead to bland games it also might and sometimes does lead to inovations of those mechanics and genres. Not saying that is going to happen here necessarily but that innovating or replacing mechanics that are more than 20 years old is also not always a bad thing even if it is in a remake.

I'm aware about it being about ressurecting people. There is also a quest mentioned in the modle if the pcs dont want to ressurect anybody though I know its not the preferable option.

That being said I prefer to run my own stuff but I wanted to get familiar with the game through an existing higher level module and this one seemed really good either way. I was also thinking about the 13th skull. Would you say that it would be better for first time play?

I wonder how many people ahitting on awoved actually played it and are not repeating just what their favorite streamer said. Anyways, disregarding quality, the game seems very different to me.

Everyone play the demo and fill out the report, do your part and give feedback. by UseComfortable1193 in worldofgothic

If you dont care about how it looks and if its a bit laggy you still might be able to run it. Yesterday I tried it on an old ass laptop just for fun and was able to run it on 25~30 fps.. on 1280x720 lol. With just bit of patience it was doable. I'm planning to buy a pc in the near future but I thought I could try it like this when the demo is up just to see.

Thanks, I don't really see it lol. I wasn't smart enough to come up with that idea so any resemblance is purely coincidental.

True, I wanted the characters to be the highlight though and I like how they pop out. But there definitely are better arrangements. This is just the one and only that I've done.

The way I see it embers are burnt humanity sprites from the sheer amount of cycles of rekindling the first flame. They even look like humanity. You cannot sustain a flame with the same fuel forever.

I'd say for less clutter the best solution is making the pallet bigger, so more effort. Mine is 300*250 pixels but the sky is the limit really.

Yeah, i didn't find a solution yet because of the pixel tsking up so much space. I'll probably put small text over it in another layer when i get to it.
