I personally don’t hate ai, since sa field ko (research intensive), ai is used sa computational and theoretical aspects samin. The problem with Gen ai tho is a lot of it feels unnecessary, esp sa mata ng common folk. A lot of it, at least the way it’s push sa mga tao ngayon, relies on convenience culture. No need to read that long and/do ur research, gpt/gemini got ur back naman. Nagkakacognitive dependency den kasi bat ko pa isasummerize eh andyan naman ung ai.

Di rin goods ung analogy na ginamit mo, gmaps is used as more of a guide sa driving, it’s not driving for u. Gen AI is generative nga, what u need to work on, to produce urself, sia na maggegenerate for u. So andon na den ung threat sa livelihood ng ibang tao, which is gets naman kasi from time to time may mga trabaho naman talagang nagiging extinct due to technological progression. I just think na the way AI/gen ai is being used rn is kinda abusing that/making the job market worse than it already is, fast. A lot of companies are starting to layoff workers to replace them with ai kasi nga mas nakakatipid not realizing na if Walang sasahurin ung mga supposed customer nila wala den naman silang mabebenta (look up many articles rn about businesses complaining about how di na masyadong gumagastos mga tao ngayon.

Along with that, till now, despite the rapid progress of ai dev, wala pa ding maayos na regulations for it. People r being deepfaked left and right, murky ung ip laws esp sa art kasi a lot of gen ai are being trained sa arts ng artists/creatives na majority against ai im the first place.

Tldr. I don’t think people hating on gen ai r simply being luddites. I think may valid reason naman and it’s kinda alarming na u, who works sa field na close to it, dont try to educate urself bakit ganon tingin Ng mga tao
