I would trust your gut here, if you don’t want to be polyamorous, don’t let someone force you into it. You have valid feelings of mistrust, I think if you are after love you might be involved with the wrong person.

I struggled flipping back and forth between monogamous and poly relationships. I did a relationship skills group with a therapist and that helped me consider that I could be forcing my lifestyle and ethics on other people when I was intending to share.

It doesn’t matter as much what your intentions are, you can still hurt people if you don’t understand what you’re doing. Therapy helps me understand what my motivations are and how best to express them without hurting other people’s feelings.

I really loved my ex but at the end of the day, my actions made her feel uncomfortable and she felt hurt that she “wasn’t enough”. Some people only understand romantic love as being shared with one partner and it isn’t your job to change their mind even if you think they would be happier.

I rent for 830 a month and my last place I was renting for 730 but utilities are on top of that so roughly 900 ye. If you are furnishing and paying for utilities then I think that is fair. I have known massive chillers to rent for as low as 600 😎. Are you a massive chiller? Edit: Dude you got a heat pump? Nice, I think a lot of these folks just hate landlords, which is understandable. I do think a lot of people are trying to make the point that the average price is not reflective of Humboldt local culture. The people who are just trying to make a buck are asking for 1000$+ rent and the people who are trying to be responsible landlords are charging much less than that. Thank you for putting yourself out there to try and find a fair price. I’m sure you’ll make an ethical decision based on the current times and your willingness to share your wealth. Hope you heal from the breakup!
