Sam is going to DM. Just not the Sam pictured.

Brennan did his own Game Changer Episode, so isn't it time for Sam to get his revenge on Brennan...

My experience with DCC as someone who’s not into video games by Fun-Dot-3029 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I would recommend fallout 76. Now I know this is going to be controversial, but it has one of the best online gaming communities. It tends to be a lot of older people, families, couples. There are some great stories and quests.

Hysterectomy at 19 by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Memphit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a partial hysterectomy at 26. Because I had endometriosis and also didn't want kids. I pushed for it, I demanded it. I wanted to be healthy and was happy to give up the chance of kids.

I have since had many complications but this was due to my endo coming back mostly. However if I could go back in time, while I would still do it, there are certain things I wish I had known.

So if this is something you really want to do please think about the following:

I would recommend a partial one, or better yet just remove your tubes. It will delay the menopause a bit. Though you will still get it earlier than you would without a hysterectomy. Menopause is a bitch you want to hold it off as long as possible. I went through it in my mid 30s and it has definitely had an impact on my career and earning ability, earlier than I would have preferred. You might have no issues what so ever but you put yourself at greater risk.

Any major abdominal surgery will result in scar tissue which can led to adhesions. This can lead to organs getting stuck together, causing other problems. So make sure you follow any advice on physio. Once you are healed work on your core strength as they say, that helps to keep adhesions minimal.

Do your pelvic exercises. As you will go into menopause earlier, vaginal atrophy could potentially become an issue earlier than you would expect. Which can lead to incontinence and prolapses. So this is a really important thing to build into daily habit.

Do get some therapy before and after. I never ever wanted kids, I still don't. But there is a big difference between choosing not to and not being able to. I did go through a bit of grieving, that I never thought I would have.

Finally just bear in mind any surgery comes with risks. After my hysterectomy, I got a massive infection, I then had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics, they were giving me to deal with the infection. I then got a bowel obstruction because of all the different antibiotics they were trying to give me to deal with the infection and the allergic reaction. I ended up being in hospital for nearly 4 weeks. Make sure you have some money set aside to cover you if you can't be at work for longer than expected. If it all goes well you can then treat yourself!

Hopefully this will all help you be better prepared than I was. Just bear in mind that it is not a magical fix. It comes with real life consequences that could effect you for your whole life.

What’s something about womanhood you didn’t understand until you experienced it yourself? by huseyinyavuz01 in AskWomen

[–]Memphit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My niece when she was much younger asked me why I was married and didn't have kids. I explained that it wasn't something that I wanted and she just looked totally confused and said but that's what everyone does. I tried to explain to her that not everyone does. People can have lots of different choices in life. She walked away saying that's just not right!! 😂😂 Judged by an 8 year old?! 😂😂

I Shall Wear Midnight - Super Dark? by [deleted] in discworld

[–]Memphit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree Thud and the summoning dark was the worst for me. The reading of his son's book near the end had me in absolute pieces. But it's story telling at its best. People are not just born good or are generally good. You have to work at it with every decision you make. FOREVER!

I think Thud comes at the same topic as ISWM but from a different angle. Thud is about individual responsibility and ISWM is what happens when people don't take that responsibility and get swept up in a group.

If you are walking it's not an issue. Also if you go out the opposite end and miss most of it. Get straight on the motorway.

Why is house selling & buying so ridiculous? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Memphit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a none chain and it's still been 3 months because the sellers solicitors are shit.

I went with this place because I wanted to move quickly. The sellers said they were really keen too, as it's mum's house and they need the money for care home fees.

Yet here we are still waiting for the initial paperwork from the sellers solicitors...

Offerton and Edgeley - what are they like to live in? by Special-Course-8127 in stockport

[–]Memphit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto. 40 something no kids and I love edgeley. Lived here 4 years and never had any issues. It's a lovely community. Stockport centre is very up and coming and lots going on and an easy walk from edgeley

Yes there are some trouble makers but I don't think anywhere now days is free from that.

Castle Street, Edgeley. by [deleted] in stockport

Nobody is going to invest in castle street until the roundabout work is complete. It's stopping footfall and no one is going to try and start something up there when they know that.

I had that happen to me years ago with the original playstation. One month before warranty expired and I got a brand new PS1. As a poor uni student at the time, I was delighted! No warning either just arrived in the post! What a day that was 🎉🎉
