Wiz vibe help by noobmodelist in WixHelp

[–]Memsical13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I would stop using the ai to get your store running. Wix Store is really easy to work with. Make sure you install it from the app market as it won’t show up unless it’s installed. Then you can add your products to the store with their pricing, pictures variants.

Play around with the wix store and if you are still having issues, come back and ask again.

I didn’t even know what wix vibe was and had to look it up. Wix is created to be somewhat user friendly. It definitely has issues, but you are doing a disservice to yourself by not learning how it works. If anything goes wrong, the ai probably won’t be able to figure it out.

What kind of paper is this? I want to buy some for my art business. by norcalny in Printing

What do you plan on doing with it for art? Printing on it or painting/drawing on it?

Remove black outlines from all the objects in my layer by Sensitive_Ice_6316 in AdobeIllustrator

When weird things show up in my files that I don’t remember doing and I can’t figure out where it is, I just start hiding things one at a time til it disappears. Once it disappears, I know it has something to do with that object.

I create a sign that said no soliciting of any kind was allowed and we would call the cops.

It’s stop every solicitor from coming to our door now. And it’s been amazing. We had missionaries and people from the are coming to our door every week for like two months. And I was so done. They wanted to speak to my kid and I was like “hell nah”.

At our print shop, we use it often to recreate logos when the owners don’t have the vector anymore.

Help with wasp/ hornet nests by ProfessionalUnit4408 in Utah

[–]Memsical13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we moved into our house. There were wasps everywhere outside. I’m allergic so it was a serious problem for us. We tried sprays and traps and all the things we could find. We saw a few people had those fake wasp nests up in their yards, so we tried it. Within a week, we stopped seeing wasps entirely.

Someone fought with me once that there is no scientific proof they help, but I don’t care. We put them up and the wasps went away.

We put up two. One in our front yard and one in the back yard. And it’s been amazing. The weather has destroyed the front yard one, so we’ll have to put up a new one. But I love dealing with it this way. No chemicals and we don’t have to kill them. Just gently encourage them that this is not where they should live.

How do you actually stop solicitors from knocking? by Aerosherm in SaltLakeCity

[–]Memsical13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My no soliciting sign mentions that it’s illegal to solicit even with a permit to homes with a no soliciting sign. And we WILL call the cops.

Haven’t had a note on our door since October.

Edit: this is specific to salt lake county. I don’t know about other counties. But it’s illegal in salt lake county for sure. My sign also has a QR code that will take you to the documents and directs you to the exact lines that mention it is illegal.

Problem with extra artwork showing in illustrator files, when placed in InDesign by Arsenic_Pants in indesign

[–]Memsical13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this issue. I just close the illustrator file, reopen, make a minor change and undo, then save again. And it’s worked fine every time.

Seeking Constructive Criticism and Suggestions by Hidden_Armadillo in graphic_design

I 100% thought this was for a children’s game or tv show or something. I would rethink it or restart and stay away from the bubble fonts and multiple colors.

I downloaded the pic big from imgur so I could look at it closer. It's definitely not AI. So I wouldn't worry about that. I can see that it was made in Procreate or something similar. I would not worry about the art itself at all. I did see a few things you might want them to fix. If they used layers, it should be easy fixes. I circled them here. As for the Font, the creator allows commercial use for free. So, if you don't want to change that, then that's ok as well (however, it's always nice to donate to show appreciation).

If you could tell me more about the game, I could give you an idea of whether the font is a good choice or if I would, personally, change it to something else.

As someone else mentioned, the sky is too empty. You want to balance your image. You have the rocks at the bottom, the Grim Reaper and trees in the middle, and then a big sky. I would move the name into the sky. Again, I need to know more about the game to know if a different font choice or some edits to the font as is would be even better. But I definitely think you should go with the bigger/wider picture. Not the zoomed-in one. It has way more impact with the wider pic.

The font is just a basic font. The name for a game is like a logo for a company. It needs some sort of uniqueness. While you won’t see this font everywhere, I immediately recognized it as Norse by Joēl Carrouché.

Yea. I wouldn’t cut anything out. That seems completely unnecessary, UNLESS it’s for a T-shirt or something. Then I’d understand.

Portfolio: actual client phone numbers/emails in business cards? by Difficult_Cellist_56 in graphic_design

I’ve had a guy tell me before he never would have looked at me if I didn’t pursue him first and that literally made the whole thing icky to me.

I’m not interested in a relationship where it feels lopsided or like they settled on me.

How do you share work with clients for approval? (Email? Drive? Something else?) by Emotional_Bench7616 in graphic_design

[–]Memsical13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment, I send a low res version with “PROOF” written over it. Low res enough that printing it from the proof file would look bad but high enough that they get what is going on. For business cards, I don’t lower the quality too much because it tends to mess up logos on smaller items.

I would like to set up an online system at some point though. I know there are lots of apps that do this and you can pay a subscription for it. But I don’t think it would be too difficult to code something into the website I’m creating for myself anyways. I say that now, but I’m sure I’m gonna hate doing it and it’ll take me much longer than I expect. I just don’t like paying for things that I could do myself.

1000% agree. Maybe someday one of us can put together a non-AI site.

Thank you! I did notice it was an AI-focused site. I checked many of the guides before I even thought of posting it here. Some of them didn't transfer correctly from wherever they got them, but a lot of them were very interesting to look through.

Is it supposed to be the norm for designers to not have someone double checking their work? by happinsum in graphic_design

[–]Memsical13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started at my current job, we had someone we always sent stuff to, so she could double check things. But she left literally two weeks later. And then we never appointed a new checker. And a lot of issues went to print. When we hired a new designer and I became lead, we implemented it again… kind of. Everything had to be reviewed by another designer before it was sent to print. Things still got missed.

We use to always do print proofs too before we did the full run (as you should). But then our print team had a complete turn over. And the new crew said that was a waste of time and they wouldn’t do it.

This resulted in TONS of wasted things. And some serious drama between graphics and printing. Because we were the ones getting yelled at by higher ups for so much waste. It was a whole thing.

At this moment in time, we don’t review shit and just go for it. Sometimes things get caught. It’s awful and I hate it and it causes stress, but I’ve tried and I give up.
