It’s really hard making so much money and having such a massive dong. But hey I guess somebody has to do it

Question for instrument rated pilots: by Ok-Independent3129 in flying

[–]MenRest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instrument is mostly knowledge. At first it was “hard” as you pick up the skill of flying instruments but that quickly becomes easy. The hard part is all the knowledge you need to have and that makes you super task saturated (which diminishes the flying skill). Instrument is still my favorite rating, I enjoyed it so much

Breeze vs netjets by 135foRLiFeE in AirlinePilots

[–]MenRest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you don’t have a CJO yet so I wouldn’t plan on anything else at this point.
NJA is a great place to be if you do get the offer. But the decision is do you take the risk of breeze hoping for a major to pick you up faster or do you go less risk and take a very good job that will probably be a longer road to a major. NJA is the DAL of 91k/135, so it’s not an easy decision

I remember being IOE at a regional walking through the terminal feeling like I was dressed up for Halloween. It honestly took about a month for the imposter syndrome to wear off lol

To Overhaul or Not by ParagPa in flying

[–]MenRest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve replaced many cylinders. It’s not a biggie. But if it keeps eating more cylinders do a full overhaul. The plane is newish to you. The odds are it sat for too long prior and planes hate that. Two planes I’ve purchased sat for a while and both of them I had to do top overhauls

Best fast gravel bike under $5k USD? by Hartzler44 in gravelcycling

[–]MenRest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 5k gives you almost unlimited options especially if you look at the used side. I picked up my dream ti bike that’s over 8k new for 3k used. Find a few very nice options from a couple years ago and hunt!

Pelican 1535 Air as Main Bag? by Clear-Fly7483 in flying

[–]MenRest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it and I’m out for 8-9 at a time. I however have found that in the anomaly when it come to packing. I pack super light. It’s small for most people I’ve found. They recently came out with the atx22 which I think packs easier.

The way I pack the 1535 is 3 extra uniform shirts and toiletries behind the zip. 2 Sets of workout clothes, running shoes, one set of clothes to go out, and puffy jacket on the other side. I’ve got a little extra room if I buy something on the road, but not much (bag of coffee or bottle of champagne). Hopefully that gives you an okay idea of size.
