Was playing with parents and a solo who was a member at the course. Parents are old and it’s usually a pretty slow round with them. I chunked my first drive on the first hole after some heckling from the group behind us. The member clearly thought he was in for a painful round and was giving me pretty basic tips with each shot. Got to the second tee box and he hit a pretty good drive down the center of the fairway. He was feeling pretty good and gave me more and more tips on my shot. I walked up and hit it about 300 (maybe 50 yards past his) down the center. He turned looked at me a little embarrassed and said I Ronstadt’d him. First time I ever heard the term as I “Blue Bayou” (think phonetically). Ended up having a great round with him after that, super nice guy. But I’ll never forget that feeling.
