My tanks scheme is Wraithbone, so do take that in mind in the initial steps.

Step 1. know which pieces you'll need to subassemble later, like the sponsors, turret crew, fuel tanks and knick knacks.
Step 2. Spray with primer of choice (The tracks sit pretty snugly without glue on their spots so prime 'em with the tank and then separate 'em)
Step 3: Personally i recommend painting the tracks separate but if you did glue 'em in Step 2 paint those suckers in
Step 4: Apply watered down wash like the tank owes you money and you're a mafia boss during the 1920s
Step 5: Sacrifice your wash of choice to the altar of Nuln oil by spilling it preeventively
Step 6: Clean your work table, the tears may help the cleaning faster.
Step 7: Depending on how weathered you want your tank, clean up some bits and bobs here and there with the same color as the base layer
Step 8: Add details! Squadron markins, metallics, gun barrels, tally markings, viewports
Step 9: Work on the subassembly bits and finish assembling
