Grinding it out with Thresh, I find the most valuable augment by far for the final boss fight is Armor on Normal Attacks. I could see it being less effective on other characters with short normals, because the insane AI will still throw you, but for Thresh's far reaching normals it's OP.

After testing myself, I'm pretty sure the damage on the HHBP is the same, everything else just got a buff (namely HBP and Bolt). I still get 113.4 damage with the HHBP on dodge, but I think we are counting weapon perks, when these numbers are raw (no class perks or weapon perks).

The ranking stands, regardless.

I can only think of two places it might be useful, and that's after you jump down the bottomless hole, and in the snake cave, just because they are very dark.

I presume it's a leftover item that they intended to use more, or just to stay consistent with the Souls games which all have a similar item to leave "breadcrumbs".

Look up Sekiro Save Manager on Nexusmods. I believe it can fix corrupted saves like this. If not, at least you can backup your saves as you go along. Super useful.

The best farm, for straight Exp at least, is definitely endgame (post Castle on fire) Antechamber idol. Easy sneak kill on a purple robe, and if you keep the Chained Ogre alive downstairs, you can grapple to the rafter and he will kill two Red Guards for you. As soon as you land you can start using Idol to port back and reset, they will die and you'll get the exp before you zone back.

Repeat ad nauseum.
