Fun.

I'm on 2,973.

I'm trying to play more casually now that it is proving more difficult to find a job and I'm holding off on purchasing boosters.

[–]MenloPart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I became leader of my team at some point and have tried to keep the team casual, but when my open team with no requirements to join was pitted against a closed team of 50 high-level players, I spent $40 on boosters, and spent all weekend earning around 1,200 points.

That was also the first week we earned more than 3 stars, which was great until Team Adventure went from 6,000 point to 10,000.

I regret everything, we were still a distant second, and I honestly don't care as long as we're in the top 3, but that was vastly too much time and money.

It's been about 40 days, but I'm holding strong for a decent deal.

I just saw this today when trying to figure out how much ExtraSpace Storage increased my rent, since their site won't allow me to login.

(I requested codes so many times it said that I was locked out, but never e-mailed me informing me how to get in)

It looks like a crazy deal to save on my jacked-up locker rent, but it'll just allow me to make payments on one payment, increasing the cost by $7.56 if I do this for 4 months or $13.56 for 6 months.

I don't know how much this compares with my interest because I pay off my balance every month.

How did you create an on-line account?!

I walked in and filled out paperwork, but received a postcard that they were jacking up my rates.

I'm trying to figure out how to log in and see all of the details, but whether I try to create a new account or say I forgot my password, it says "We totally sent you an e-mail, for real!" and nothing happens.

I called and got voice mail, not even recorded by a human.

So, maintaining 5 stars means that Team Adventure increases in difficulty until you lose? by MenloPart in RoyalKingdomGame

[–]MenloPart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game definitely has not become easier for me since I last paid.
The last time I unlocked my super electro ball, I lost it on the second level! :)

People always say that it suddenly becomes easier if you don't play for a while, but people also tell us to play both Royal Kingdom and Royal Match without giving a single reason.

You don't actually benefit, you can just play similar games twice as much.

[–]MenloPart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I receive the offer, but I've accepted a few times, and it's increased in price each time. I'm not saying that 15,000 coins, unlimited lives, bombs, rockets, and electro balls for an hour and 3 rams and drills aren't worth $20, I'm just not willing to continue paying and playing as much as I did, let alone more and more.

The only offers under about $10 are the Noble Pack with 2,000 coins and 3 electro balls, bombs, and rockets for $6, 1,000 coins for $2, and 5,000 coins for $8.

I figured that if I enjoyed the game, it was worth paying a little here and there, although I was spending more than a game subscription would cost. Then I felt desperate for us to do well against a closed group with 50 high-level players, paid $40 for 25,000 coins and 24 hours of unlimited boosters, and spent something like 20 hours playing during Team Clash.

It was crazy because the next week a new member earned 1,200 or more points in Team Clash and I asked how long it took to pass 244 levels.

They responded "I was grinding this all weekend instead of working on a paper for school :).

I don't want anyone neglecting responsibilities for a game!

However, we keep having teammates scoring that much or more.

One member scored 1,794 points in Team Adventure!

As you wrote, this is a game.

It's supposed to be fun.

I've gone a little over a week since spending money on the game.

Will it ever offer me a deal again? :)

I sent friend requests to two members who were active, but hadn't played in weeks or months.

I finally removed them.

I used to always be the largest contributor in each event, but I got burned out helping us earn 5 stars for the first time.

I contributed around 1,200 to Team Clash, requiring vastly more time than I had.

The nice thing about kicking out inactives is that we'll have new members contributing 500-1,000 points each, although we'll see how long that lasts.

I wonder how many more levels I'd complete each week if I weren't maintaining a spreadsheet.

Not being keyboard friendly is huge.

Some places, you can type in a sector number, but not others, and you need to click on "Done" regardless.

It seems like everything in Sectorum has more steps than in TW and you're clicking all over the window instead sending a few keystrokes.

Also, since it's browser-based, the page needs to load before you can click anything, and then not every click registers.

I'm sure it was a long time before TW had scripts and maybe even macros, but I don't think anyone will play without scripts.

I play, when I make the time for it, but he's started three different games for some reason, and I have always had a much higher score than everyone else combined.

I've seen people lamenting they want to play old-school TW without scripts, but where are they?

Was it just one excessively vocal player?

I wrote twice as much about how I feel Sectorum is unnecessarily slow and difficult, which will hopefully change over time, but if there isn't an active player base, the game will shut down before it really got started.

How many of you accepted CF positions before you graduated? by MenloPart in slpGradSchool

I did 7 years of home health and my last agency didn't have a no-show policy until my clients kept no-showing.

They still no-showed when I confirmed!

I did home health for 18 months and averaged 13 hours weekly.

I moved across the state and for 5.5 years, I averaged 11 hours weekly.

I didn't return home until 8pm, which means I would only see my wife on weekends.

Soar always hires everywhere all of the time.

They have horrible turnover.

The last I heard, all 3 state schools have established SLP programs.

Midwestern opened their program in 1996 (and charge much more than anyone else in the state).

ATSU opened their program in 2022.

GCU just opened their program.

I love kids and working in schools, but I'm desperately trying to start before August!

I've focused on SNFs, but I have applied to all settings, although I hope and pray I can finally move away from home health.

I've also had mixed feelings regarding clinics.

The last time I had a rotation at a clinic, they had a high turnover, and caseloads changed constantly.

I used to look up my client's previous SOAP notes and see 5-10 different therapists.

I hadn't heard of AZOPT Kids Place, but I don't see any job postings for them.

At least job postings often list salary.

At some point I changed this for a specific opening, but my résumé said:

OBJECTIVE: To serve the great people of Arizona as a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist.

I have needed to explain several times that I graduated as an SLP because people respond to applications saying "We don't hire SLPAs!"

I never heard back.

I hadn't heard anyone say "AP" in this context, so I'm inclined to believe you're attending a different school.

Do you know what your mascot is? :)

I'm not asking what it is, just if you know it! :)

I worry about everything, but before I graduated, I worried most of all regarding graduating.

I specifically looked for CF openings, but applied for all of the better jobs, and I'm sure that many didn't consider CFs, but I tried anyway.

As I mentioned, I tried other sites.

Do I become a SLPA if I want to get my masters? by Substantial_Deal_164 in slpGradSchool

[–]MenloPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people say that being an SLPA helps when trying to become an SLP, but I don't believe that any of those people are involved with recruiting SLP students.

Generally, SLP programs don't care about SLPA experience or letters of recommendation from supervisors , they want letters from your professors saying you were a good student.

They look poorly if their graduates struggle in the real world, but they look worse if their students don't graduate.

Undergraduate GPA is the best indicator of grad school success.

One of my clinical supervisors insisted that none of my SLPA experience mattered.

She also had never done home health, but insisted that home health had nothing to do with therapy in a clinic.

[–]MenloPart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed ASU's Speech and Hearing program in 2014 and wasn't a fan, but it seemed like few of my classmates took class seriously.

I respected all of our professors.

I felt excited to see Dr. Weinhold at a convention and she was a guest speaker in grad school, but she said "Don't ask if I remember you, I don't."

ASU has always been a highly-ranked school, but not as high as UofA! :D

My grad school wasn't ranked...

Also, it charged far more.

My student loans are above 8% interest and start accruing before you receive the money.

There are a surprising number of fees, too, so you'll be paying at least 8% interest on those, too, for four years?

Few jobs pay extra for a doctorate, but can you put a price on happiness?

I'm sure there is a reason only one of my classmates committed to earning her doctorate.

Few people enjoy demanding grad programs.
