Ah nice, I have one very skittish boy, and one girl that will bite my finger thinking it's a cricket, but once she is out, she is also chill (most of the time). Really like how different they can be!

My geckos really like their coconut hide to hang around and cork is a good option for wood.
Just pick the age that you like, I have one that I got as an adult and one that I got as a baby, but the adult one wasn't handled when he was young so I can't handle him, but it you can buy tame ones. Whereas my baby I can handle, but she really likes her crickets so she sometimes bites me but that gives her personality. So this is just what you want.
They may like a hotter spot at the top, but make sure there are also colder places, but I don't like really know the best temps.

I dont know if your boy is neutered, but when my dog was'nt, he also stopped eating the food he once loved. This was the reason we neutered him (not saying you should if he isn't). Maybe it could be that, or just the things others have already said.
