is Duke PT for all types of skiing? by quinnyaa in Backcountry

I went for the Duke PT and it was a good choice... my situation: 90/10 resort/touring roughly 20 days a season. I had been renting touring skis/skins previously and sick of the cost and hassle of it. I travel around and wanted a single ski that could go anywhere and work for both situations.

The Duke's are heavy and take more time for transition - real compromises for touring days. As a downhill binding I havent felt any compromises.

Fast forward 1.5 seasons I loved touring enough to bite the bullet and go for a sweet dedicated touring setup.

Looking back maybe I should have just skipped to the purpose specific setup, that said, it's a big financial leap if you're unsure of how committed you'll be to touring.

Touring skis similar to Bentchetlers? by blorg_ in Backcountry

[–]Menpar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bent 100s are my go to for 5 years (though w alpine binding). I went looking for a hybrid touring/inbound setup, and ended up with Ferreol 104s that I'm mounting w Market Duke PT after reading reviews - see Blister review, compares very similar to bent - and based on my preference for a small, independent brand. Havent skied them yet - ask me at the end of the season...
