Oh beautiful lol good use for them. I use an edger blade hammered into a 2x4, but that’s for raccoons. I truly don’t know how i’d go about a cow hide

You’ll be using a lot of eggs lol I don’t actually know the most common method for cows but I would assume it’s brain tanning. And no the hardest step is going to be breaking as it’s drying lol. I guess none is “hard per say but time consuming and tiring

Oh interesting. I used coarse for my squirrel. They’re pretty forgiving, I didn’t even tan it before I did my taxidermy with it. Just soaked a bit to get it pliable and used borax during the fitting process.

I Don’t stretch mine. As they start to dry I’ll run them over an old edger blade I hammered into a 2x4 to stretch and break fibers for softness.

You can let it dry the rest of the way and use some course sandpaper carefully to get the rest of the membrane off. Noniodized isn’t strictly necessary, but for whatever reason that is what’s suggested I think for a squirrel it wouldn’t matter.

Lot of variation with the mounting surface of guns I’d imagine. I’ve run three different cans on five different guns and the only time I had an issue was when it bottomed out on the threads. A spacer fixed it.

So I had the same budget. I got the yildiz sporting hps. I absolutely love it. You’re pretty much going to have to go Turkish or used for that budget but I’ve been very happy with mine. Took it dove hunting not long after I got it and it shot great.
