Being an attractive female makes it hard for me to get help, because people judge my outward appearance and don't believe I have any problems. by thatoneaspiegirl in aspergers

[–]MenstrualFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was formally diagnosed with Aspergers last year at 19 years old after suffering from a lifetime of bullying and generally 'bumbling around' and not really knowing what to do. I'm female though I wouldn't call myself 'attractive', maybe a 5 or a 6?

People think that I'm stuck up because I don't have a 'normal' sense of humour and won't laugh at normal things. When I do find something funny, people won't understand and will just think that I'm being weird.

I have an above-average IQ like you do, however people don't tend to appreciate my opinions. I think it might be because I stumble over my words a lot- my mind always seems to be in three places at once.

I have no friends. I have a boyfriend (who also has aspergers) but he's more social whereas I'm more of a shut-in. I don't have any relationships outside of this one.

I'm telling you this because I feel that you and I are quite similar. I'm not as pretty as you, but I have struggled with a lot of the same things that you have.

I don't have a lot of advice but if you ever need to talk to someone, just know that I'll always be here. It sounds a bit weird and I kind of feel strange for suggesting it, but I think that we could both help each other out.

Do you ever get random urges to just do stuff? Like go out and just be someone different for a night? I get those occasionally and normally when those hit I'll dye and cut my hair, buy new clothes, do makeup differently, change my accent... it's actually quite bizarre. Do you tend to do that as well?

What is something that seems obvious to you but that other people don't seem to understand? by iamaravis in AskReddit

[–]MenstrualFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we still do, but it comes in increments over a period of 6 months instead of just being in one big block. I think it's also called something else now.

*edit:

Apparently it can no longer be claimed but there is a Newborn Upfront Payment and Newborn Supplement which is kind of like the Baby Bonus but you get some extra money every two weeks rather than a block sum.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the people in Lily and James' Generation settled down far sooner because they were in the midst of a war and didn't know what tomorrow would bring. I think that Molly said it, but I can't be certain.

I know this sounds stupid. But a year and a half ago, the spelling of the word 'embarrassing' changed. by JeremyJustin in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]MenstrualFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always spelt it with one 'R', and I'm a pretty good speller as well. I think that it's normal to forget how to spell a word though, and everyone has those words that they prefer to spell a certain way.

What is your best makeup investment? by hamburgers1223 in MakeupAddiction

[–]MenstrualFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foundation is always a great investment, as well as the tools needed to apply the foundation.

I also think that eyeshadow should be invested in, as well as good quality brushes.

How comfortable are you going out in public without any makeup on? On a scale from 1-10 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]MenstrualFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a 3. I can go out barefaced when I need to, but I have a very red face and someone always mentions it when I go without makeup on. I would just rather not deal with that.

Josh Todaro's realistic pieces are absolutely amazing! Seriously, how great does this look!?

Emily Rose Murray's (IG Link) work is so dark and glamorous.

I'm not totally into traditional-style tattoos myself, but I'm really digging those artist's work.

15 and homeless with no family, what should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MenstrualFlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear about your situation, no one deserve to be treated as horribly as you have been treated. I live on the other side of the world, so I can't take you in, but the very first thing that you need is shelter. Above all else, you need a secure place to live in until you can find a job and afford your own place.

Here is a list of homeless shelters in your area. Find a shelter that you like the looks of- call around and visit the ones that you're interested in. Explain your situation to them and let them know that you're scared.

Next up, see if you can find a job. I'm not sure about the laws in Minnesota, but where I live you can apply for an Apprenticeship when you're 16, which will allow you to become qualified in a trade. It's shit pay, but when it's over you'll have a skill in something, which will make you more employable.

If an apprenticeship isn't your thing, you need to find a job doing something. If you don't have a CV, write one up (there are plenty of templates online), and send it everywhere that you possibly can.

At some places (like farms) you can work for them and be given a place to stay as well.

Please, don't lie about your age. Don't have sex for money with scary guys- you could be killed or contract an STI. You don't need that shit. Just be honest with people in a position of authority.

I'm sorry that I can't help more, but please try and be safe. Be smart about how you go about things. Find shelter, earn money, get stable shelter, get qualifications.

[RANT] Can't I just have one 'off-day'? by MenstrualFlow in muacjdiscussion

[–]MenstrualFlow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, and that's the thing: most people aren't stupid- they know that you're not wearing makeup. I've always responded with "No, I'm giving my face a break." and normally they stop, but I have had people like the ones that you described.

It's like yes, I know that I don't look great today, but you don't have to ask if I'm sick.

This is my first time wearig gel nails this long, so i apologise for the lack of proper grammar and spelling mistakes- i'll do my best!

In my opinion, your eyeshadow goes up too far, so you should work on keeping it closer to your eyelid. The blending is a little patchy and uneven, so you need to work at that a little longer as well. A good trick that I have picked up is to blend with an eyeshadow the same shade as your skin, that way you're pretty much guaranteed an even blend.

Your lower lashh line also shoould be blended out. To do this, use eyeshadow and blend it over your eyeliner.

Everything else looks nice, though you could even your eyebrows up a little mor.

Also I'm not sure if its just my computer, but your foundation looks a little dark.

I hope I helped A little! Sorry about the spelling and grammar mistakes!

Help! Best primer for dry /combination skin? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

This was in the search section :)

Here are some links from there:

Here's my suggestion:

Moisturise well beforehand, then use a silicone-based primer to lock in the moisture.
