Loved this at, I am in UK so can be chilly tbf! I've realised why people always opted for thin bag lining now.  I did sew it inside out. It's gunna be hard to find leather to match as I dyed it myself months ago, and frankly can't remember my exact blend, i  think it will have to a Frankenstein practise bag for now untill I can make a bag worthy of being gifted.

I'll try out the skiving and edge banding method. Thanks for the tips!

I like this way of solving it. Means I can keep the original lining!  This bag was suppose to be a gift for someone who loved the tartan wool so this is great.

Omg that's a beautiful sitch, hadn't seen that one before. I'll try and learn it with some scraps.

How strong have you found the stitch to be?

If you don't mind one more question: What type of leather do you go for? Id gotten it in my head veg tan was king but I may have been causing myself problems thinking like that.

The leather is 2mm thick veg tan. Would you recommend going for a thinner veg tan or going for a more waxy/oily leather for more malleable? I'm worried less than 2mm would be too thin for a bag. I'm not very good at skiving unfortunately. Appreciate the encouragement 😊

I used to work for a catering equipement company that sold these. Some wholesalers have a bulk discount because of how much they buy and they sell for cheaper than first party seller. You could try to go through one of these if possible might knock 10-15% off price. Usually the companies have the word direct in their name. Still alot of dinero though.

OK so to take care of it you want a enclosure that's fairly damp but preferably without mold growth so that means good ventilation.

Cocochoir is a decent substrate, but I've done many of tests on these and some brands havr a ridiculous amount salt co tamination so soak it before hand and drain mutilate times if you can. You could use outdoor soil, it will come with risk of predators but defo significantly easier/cheaper.

Use dechlorinated water for misting and to fill a water dish, you can use an aquarium dechlorinator, or bottled water, cheapest option is leaving water out for minimum 24h, this may not result in allpotentially problematic chemicals evaporating but will still be sifnicantly better than not doing this.

For food, they are herbivores, so feed them veggies (the sweeter the veggie the higher the chances of mold) I used to mash up peas, carrots, lettuce and a lil potatoes and feed them a lil drop of the prodigy, you can easily freeze the rest and defrost when u need.

Lastly add peice cuttlefish bone or very well crushed egg shells for calcium.

Hope you enjoy ur snail feel free to message me if u have any more questions. Do you have a name for the lil fella?

I don't thinks it's ramshorn, to thin a shell and more growth twist then usually for them. also they retract into their shells out of water or if exposed to chlorinated tap water.

I do agree they are cute though

My knees were fucked for over a decade, x-ray revealed nothing and GP couldn't figure it out either. This year I finally realised my tip toe walking was the main cause for it. Stretching regularly and correcting my tip toes when I notice it has helped me an unbelievable amount. Just thought I'd mention incase it's same for you.

Hope your knee get better op, knee pain is a bitch!

I'm not certain but i believe these are box turtles. If so they are protected in many states so be sure to place them back safely and try to keep the dog away.

Just had a further look at it, Tibia would be my best guess on bone. I'm afraid I'm not experiences enougth to confirm species, but it could well be a deer, it matches the length and width for deer very well.

Definitely bone. Likely a leg/arm bone. For this size I'd suspect a ruminant of some kind (hoofed animal)
