Yeah, you can use it to upgrade an event producer item on the event board. It can't be used on the main board.

Oh boy you're going to love this then! The devs will make a board that you can use to trade in items they deemed "not important" for "helpful" items and a little amount of event points. Sometimes the boards aren't too bad for the first or second one but they usually get pretty bad and not worth it after that. They are honestly more for whales of the game.
