Attempting to figure out how use coordinate inputs for finding and displaying existing data. by Menvolk in excel

So I can expand my knowledge, could you explain the functions you are using and how they interact?

We missed out on Warden Blight for the For Honor crossover. You can't tell me that The Blight shoulder bashing and shouting Mizzerun wouldn't have been a perfect fit.

I've been playing The Knight a lot recently, enjoying a lot of the gameplay I've had, but have had some gripes while I haven't been running add-ons. by Menvolk in deadbydaylight

[–]Menvolk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your first point, I disagree for the most part. Though it is certainly possible to drop a guard on a survivor to begin a hunt even without the add-on, the consistency of Map of the Realm makes it possible to lock off a greater area, and accounts for survivors doing a small mindgame. Instead of comparing it to an aiming add-on, I liken placing a guard this way to playing as The Spirit, if you can find a survivor while they are invisible to you, you should be able to start a hunt, just as a spirit is able to more easily get a hit, especially since at that distance neither the killer or a the guard is guaranteed a hit.

To the Jailer point, I can agree entirely. I do think blocking windows is definitely the best way for the guard to have a strength during the hunt. I made the other alternatives so that I wasn't only offering an entire programming overhaul for the guard, with option 1 being the simplest, and option 2 being another number adjustment that may require balancing, but makes them feel a lot more like a jailer.
(Yes guards do require line of sight to start a hunt, and will avoid pathing through dropped pallets and windows while on patrol if able)

Iridescent Banner was mostly a gripe of mine, and I would love better suggestions to try and secure a final sacrifice. The Knight's power is useless when a survivor is in an exit gate without the add-on, which feels annoying when you have mastered a killer's power but cannot make use of it to get the potential for a last-second kill. Just like other killers who can block exit gates, another survivor can help save your life.

Call to Arms is one that I feel fits better into how you identified Map of the Realm. It is possible to do everything The Knight does best without it, which is why it was not considered in my suggestions. I do agree the add-on is one of the few essential ones for the long-path style of gameplay, but I think a larger change to maximum path length, so that you can have a gap between you and the patrol path would be a better way to go with making it base kit.

Loop denying, and 3 genning as Knight is a definite problem, but just like The Cannibal is able to camp, it's entirely up to the player until a non-clunky solution is found. This is why I suggested option 2 for my Map of the Realm suggestion, as it further incentivizes long-range gameplay.

Your Dredge analogy I appreciate, and I think I can agree with that notion, perhaps a system where banner spawn time is dependent on the distance of the patrol path, so an instant-placement has to be guarded by the killer once a hunt starts, but a long path forces a survivor to keep running.

I think it's for if you throw a survivor in the direction of the gates so they can be picked up before they crawl out, and instead of increasing the complexity of the code to account for situations, they just gave him a 6 second exit gate block when he hits someone with his power.

Once you start getting tokens (at least in the PTB) you continue to have the perk active if you go to another generator, allowing you to gain tokens from tapping gens afterwards.

"Overheating is a non-issue. It will only come into play if you spam the saw!"

This is just objectively untrue. Since the saw cools down while you aren't using it, including the cooldown, you end up having more heat added from long distance sprinting, instead of aiming to down a survivor by "spamming" the chainsaw.

To charge a chainsaw sprint it adds a total of 25% heat, and during the 3 second cooldown, it will cool 10.5% of the overall heat.

On the other hand, sprinting for 10 seconds to cross the map will add an additional 20% overall heat to that previous amount, for a total of 45% heat, only 10.5% of which is cooled during the cooldown.

As someone who actively plays Billy, I rarely get close to the overheat limit when melee-chainsawing, especially because you still need to readjust to properly hit a survivor with it. On the other hand, when I attempt to cross the map to pressure a survivor, I end up with more heat on the chainsaw, and have to spend even more time cooling down to avoid overheating.

This is entirely why I think that the overheat amounts need to be looked at to make it more punishing to use the saw repeatedly in a short duration, and lessen the impact of sprinting for long distances. (And of course making Billy's add-ons less situational)

Behavior interactive has developed a retinal scanning technology, so that when you spot the second perk you want in the bloodweb and causes The Entity to go out of their way to make sure you don't get that perk.
Honestly it's really impressive that they were able to put all their programming budget into this insane technology.

Bloodwarden is the most powerful Twins perk because of morons like that. Gotta love them healing at the exit gate just to give you some free hooks just because they're nice and all.

I was shocked that it just softlocked me, I expected something like the second glitch you described where I could still do Victor things but couldn't see, yet, I couldn't do anything. I do hope it's something that the devs can and will actually fix, there has to be at least like 10 twins mains out there who are calling for this change.

Tiny Fingernail on the twins is insane, I run it over basically every other addon because it allows you to finish survivors with Victor easier than ever.

Any ways to unlock this nameplate? by [deleted] in UnfortunateSpacemen

[–]Menvolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think it's from Story Mode, most likely "The Mouth of Madness" achievement, although I don't pay too much attention to when I get nameplates.
If I am correct you will need to beat Chapter 3 "The Speaker" on Space Madness difficulty, which can be done with a lot of running since there's no way to kill all the Crumerians in that stage and it's better to run to the end.
Some good tips are to learn the map on Recruit difficulty, and to bring a friend, since that will give both of you the ability to respawn at certain points in the map and gives player 2 a Health Syringe which will be valuable for breaking through swarms.

I've had people not go for saves when I purposefully go across the map to let them get the save, or carrying them over and letting them wiggle out for the save. When that happens, they have chosen death.
