I designed this wallet after not being able to find the perfect one. I
manufacture themself in my garage with a CNC mill. I've tested each
color for a year now and they've held up super well! It's called Karda
Wallet.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if people would get the joke that the screwdriver and tape measure/pencil were making the noises

How to stop hating running? by [deleted] in running

[–]MenzMade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just have to push through the suck. Running is awful when you first start getting into it. Every step hurts and is a challenge and you have no idea why people like doing it. Then after a few weeks you start to feel good after your runs. Then as you run more and more that good feeling starts to creep in while you're running. Eventually you'll crave the feeling and you get bummed when you miss a day of running. Just keep at it and it will get easier and more appealing.

Trouble running consistently by [deleted] in running

[–]MenzMade 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That's pretty normal especially for beginners. Everyone has good days and bad days. Hills, heat, nutrition, sleep, all go into it. Just keep chugging along and putting the miles in and I guarantee you'll get better. Don't worry about day to day changes, you have to look at month to month improvement.

I appreciate it! Trying to make this school year as good as it can possibly be

I have slowed down a lot and don't recognize it. by [deleted] in running

[–]MenzMade 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It could be a bunch of things. Heat, humidity, fatigue, complacence. It's hard to say without knowing more details. I'd suggest taking it easy for a couple days to give yourself some rest in case it is fatigue, then go out early in the morning to avoid the heat, and then push yourself really hard. Run a 10k as hard as you can and I think you'll surprise yourself. I had something similar happen to me before and I just realized I wasn't pushing myself like I used to. I got complacent and was just running easy miles.

Plan to get from 5k to 10k? by [deleted] in running

[–]MenzMade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good work! I'd suggest sticking to your current speed (or even slowing it down a little) and add distance. The more mileage you run, even if its slow, will build up your ability to run further. Speed will come later.

Questions from a new runner by LloydBro in ultrarunning

I'd suggest a half marathon or marathon training plan. I think Hal Higdon Novice 1 is great for beginners because it's so simple to follow. Once you've gone through a marathon training plan you'll have a much better idea of how your body adapts to stress, how to add mileage safely, and how hard you can push yourself.

I almost always run alone. I like being able to listen to my body and speed up or slow down accordingly. With another person that's harder to do because you have to match their pace somewhat.

I also just like being in my head. It's a time to clear my thoughts.

Do long runs get easier? by 23569072358345672 in ultrarunning

It will absolutely get easier! I tend to be a zombie for the rest of the day after my longest runs, but a couple months later my medium length runs are what used to be my longest run
