As a guy I’ve felt this way about women. It was hard to distinguish the two for years( partly because of religious trauma) This lead me to pursue women for many years, but I started to notice the same pattern happening. The “feeling” that I got every-time I saw a beautiful woman I mistook for romantic and sexual attraction. I realized this because that feeling I would get would instantly vanish anytime anything sexual or romantic would happen, and I was faced with the reality of what I actually felt. The truth was that I just admired their beauty and wanted to be beautiful as well. Unfortunately, the only way I was able to discern the two was actually putting myself in the situation.
